5070R or 5711/1A - if you had to sell one, which one you'd choose?

Hi guys,

Changing things and priorities in life, started contemplating selling either the 5070R or 5711/1A.

I love both of them, I basically don't wear any of them for so long now.

Looking to get a motorhome....

Any ideas?

best

I’d keep the 5711 - just a wonderful casual sports watch and will suit your new go go motor home lifestyle

I don't personally care much for the 5711, but with that disclosure I'll try to be objective...

Since you like both, but want to sell one, I'd sell whichever one yields the highest rate of return. Assuming you bought both at MRSP, and considering the current inflation of the Naut bubble, I'd probably sell the 5711.

I hear ya, I hear ya all

Thank you very much so far!

Indeed the inflation on 5711 makes it a better candidate, but if production was ended, like many feared last year?

5070 has, IMHO, one of the Patek's iconic craftsmanship -- wouldn't it be to consider keeping for that reason?

it's so difficult to switch a thing I don't need for a thing I really don't need either...

I'd sell the 5070, not my style plus the 5711 will be hard to get again if you ever change your mind.

I am not sure I would ever buy another chrono, have a 116500 and never use that feature. Had many other chronos and never used it either, I just find it to be not a very useful complication. Keep the 5711, can always get the 5070 back later.

If you are not wearing any of the two a lot I'd consider selling both and getting a bigger motor home...

If selling just one I would keep the 5711. While I find the chrono complication useful in general I'd never wear a PM dress chrono like the 5070 in situations where I like to use the chrono function.

Keep both (if you don't need to sell). A few years back, I sold my 5711 because I felt that I should (e.g., changing priorities) after buying a new house.

Looking back, I regret selling it (not because of the current inflated prices) because I didn't need to sell it.

Yea. Sell both and get a Rolex while traveling in your new motor home.

My recommendation: Get some new straps for the 5070R; Camille Fournet. Keep the Nautilus.

Also look for a third, things are always better in 3s.

Your descendants, yourself, and your ego will thank you later.

Contrary to most posts I’d sell the 5711, prices are currently too high to continue and you will be able to easily buy it back in a few years if you want.

I’d sell the 5711. Use the 5070 to time how long it takes someone to snap it up.

It does seem like the 5711 has peaked but of course keep the one you love better or cash out both and get a nice Gmt for the road.

5070R price has probably peaked. It has been discontinued true, but there is also a lot less demand and the trend nowadays is going to sports watch. 5711 is on-going production but there is also great demand for it. They hype factor will keep it going strong for years to come. In fact, it might be the only recession-proof watch in value retention, just mho.

The 5070 is my favorite reference, so I’d get rid of the 5711
