Anyone can help me ? Why do some 78200 gmt master 2 (116710) bracelets come with mat finish inside the clasp and some come polished ? What is the difference ? Thanks in advance |

But would they change the finish between runs? Not saying they don’t since I am new to Rolex and have no clue. But just seems odd to me to have 2 different finishes for the same watch, given everything else is held to be the same setup. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There are plenty of cosmetic changes from one production run to another for the same model.
The clasp cosmetic change is well known.

Funny enough the early (2007) 116713 came with that portion polished, while the early 116710 came sand blasted. Dunno why.

My 116610LN Sub bought new in late 2012 has the matte finish on the inside of the clasp. I’ve seen others from the same time frame with the polished finish. They change all the time.

From a practical standpoint the course texture will trap debris easier and more difficult to clean. Maybe Rolex thought of that after production. Me I like my polished clasp on my DS for that reason.

Plus the clasps are made separate to the bracelets and matched up later, so no 100% time line for any cosmetic change to any Rolex whether dials hands or most all slight cosmetic changes to any watch.
