Franck Muller 6850

I’ll start this review by saying I’ve been a fan of FM for many years having had 2 previous models. I like the classic models, the latest iterations don’t interest me.
The draw has always been the tonneau shape case and dial detail.
This is the triple calendar, chronograph model in Stainless Steel.
The guilloché dial is superbly detailed but doesn’t look cluttered at all. The subdials are well spaced and easy to read. With red numerals it’s relatively easy to read the date and the 2 day and month windows are equally easy to read. The Arabic numerals are typical FM and set the dial off beautifully. Finished with blued steel stylised hands the whole look is expensive.
The case is a perfectly balanced 34 x 47mm, ideal for dress shirts as it is for more casual dress. The size is a great balance between the smaller 5850 and very large 8880.
The movement I believe is Valjoux based and accurate and chronograph starts and resets smoothly. I keep it on a winder, to ensure I can pick it up and wear it, although setting is uncomplicated with the buttons on the side of the case. For months with 31 days, no adjustment is needed.
I have put it on a FM navy blue leather and tang buckle which perfectly suits the blues details on the dial.
I truly believe these pieces are incredible value right now and offer a lot of watch for relatively little outlay.
Thank you for reading.
