My AD said they had a great Christmas and sold a bunch of Tudors, but still had half full cases two weeks ago. I'm guessing they'll be full soon enough once shipments resume.

Just left Lanzarote and the AD there had a great selection. Both GMT's and Chrono's on bracelet. A discontinued Heritage chrono, a Ranger, Black Bay ceramic, 58's and 41's as well as a selection of dress pieces. They had just recently sold the BB Pro.

All in all I was very impressed given its a small island. The selection was better than what's available in much larger cities.

You need to tell them that they need to buy some of your wife's jewelry first, then you can see what can be done with the watch.

Lmao, lots of funny responses in this thread.
They should have a good purchase record and if non, they should come with gifts and maintain a good relationship

You're looking at UK vs USA. huge differences in availability.

Its a legal requirement to provide valid ID documentation in the UK when buying from or selling to any "high value dealer" under Anti Money Laundering Legislation.

ADs fall under the "high value dealer" requirements.

Although DL + Passport is overkill. DL alone should be sufficient (as it has both a photograph and proof of address) or passport (for the photo) + proof of address

Tell them you will need to hold onto the warranty card for a year so you are sure they are not going to flip it.

Perhaps they should stop by your house to chat watches about once a month to show they really are into Tudors? They'll never know when you might pull out the Tudor and agree to sell it to them!

Seems like a good way to get people in their store and an indication of where they see business going in 2023. With the exception of the FXD it doesn’t appear that Tudor availability is an issue. Ì wouldn’t expect them to buy your used Tudor for any more than they pay wholesale for a new one from Tudor, with the possible exception of trading it in for a much more expensive watch that isn’t in great demand. Personally I’m happy to see more AD’s taking trades and a case full of used watches might make it fun to visit stores again.

You can bet with Rolex offering a CPO program that Tudor will follow.

Tell them you'll put them on a list..Let's call it a waiting list.
Also, if they buy some of your old jewelry this may bump them up to the first spot on the waiting list!

Better yet, have them fill out a paper sheet! When they're gone, crumple it up and throw it away. (Has happened at 2 ADs. "Oh we updated our registrations - here please sign up again.")

With Tudors recent price increase, they also significantly increased wholesale prices (about 9%). AD's are making far less money on every new Tudor sold.

My guess is they're trying to pad their pre-owned section so they can pivot potential Tudor buyers from new (low margin) to preowned (high margin).

They'll have to buy a bunch of crap they don't want out of my garage first, before I grant them the privilege of purchasing an in demand timepiece from me.

Pre-owned team needs to develop relationships to get watches. The script has flipped!

I agree with you they need to make an appointment with you at your house. They should bring a nice bottle of wine and some flowers for the Mrs.too.

-OR- Take their contact information down and put them on your pre-owned teams list!
