Favorite OysterFlex

So I want something on an oysterflex

So far I’ve only been able to try on the 40mm ym and Daytona

I really didn’t care for the 40mm rose gold. Watch felt small and there is a lot of black with the dial.

The new 42mm is intriguing

I did enjoy the Daytona

I’ve yet to get hands on a sky

I do have a stainless blue sky and Ym1

So kinda leaning Daytona in white gold

But wouldn’t rule out a YG sky or even yg 42 ym

I love that 116519LN Daytona in white gold and OF - seems a great balance of a slightly modern looking take on a Daytona while being classic enough to age well. Just need to see a bit of a drop in the price for me to seriously consider buying but they’ve been headed (painfully slowly) in the right direction for a while!

Sounds like the strap is more important than the watch?

Have the 116519 and it is one of my favorite watches. Very unique in the Rolex catalogue.

If you’re leaning white gold Daytona, maybe also consider white gold YM 42 with the falcons eye dial.

So you liked the Daytona but the YM40 felt small??? The D wears much smaller. Try the Sky or the YM42

This one. Wearing it as I type.

For me the OF model has to have end links. I do like the SkyD on OF but I already have a 326935 so that makes it a no go. Granted I would do a 505 to go with my 515.

Maybe one day…

OF sits up on the wrist so it wears bigger than SS.

Favorite is tough, as there are so many good choices.

I'd have to say the 42mm YM wears and feels better than any of the others on your list. The 40mm is probably the best feeling watch of all, but understand where you're coming from when you said it wore too small.

The Sky is ridiculously good looking, but just doesn't wear as comfortably (IMHO). The Daytona unfortunately does not have the mini glide lock, so getting a good fit will be purely luck of the draw. So...take all that for what it's worth, and happy hunting.

40mm RG Yachtmaster for me.

When I think of a rubber strap, I think of watch for the water. A Daytona or a SkyD just doesn't do it for me on rubber.

Favorite OysterFlex

I prefer bracelet, but gave this one a chance... My first Yacht-Master and also my first watch with Oyster Flex.

Love the gold, the slim case, even tho it's 42mm and the ceramic matte bezel

To me it’s the looks. As is said the black bezel with the face and strap make a lot of black on the YM

Where the Daytona has a black bezel but the face isn’t black on the one I tried on so it had more to it and though it wears smaller it just didn’t look at small to me

Lots more going on with a Daytona

Not sure if that makes sense. It was more maybe about wrist presence vs size

Have the same, and it is all I ever need. I barely take it off, and it is a pleasure to wear.

Tough choice, but I think I would replace a 515 with a 505 if push came to shove... but I will still enjoy this for as long as I can!

Yeah I very much agree. I absolutely love this combo and quite the ordeal to get it. I’ll leave it at that. But imo it was worth it. And I have/had many iterations of the Daytona. 520, 523, and 500 to name a few. This 515 is far away the best “I’ve ever owned”

But if I ever got an A D call for a 505 who knows what I might do. Alas it’s already been a few years waiting and no dice. So it looks like I won’t have to worry about it

I have the YG SkyDweller on OysterFlex, and I absolutely love it. The Sky is a heavy watch, and the OysterFlex holds it in position on my wrist without being constrictive. It's very, very comfortable.

One of my speculations about the 2023 roll out would be introducing an OysterFlex option on most if not all Rolex sport watches.
