Pelagos 39

I’ve been looking for a new watch and have it narrowed down, one option is the Pelagos 39, it checks a lot of boxes. Today, upon doing some online searches, it appears that there is a wait time, does anyone know what that wait time is, I’ll probably take a ride down to a dealer this weekend.

I’d call before you go anywhere. I have yet to see a Pelagos 39 in any dealer near me.

It’s a heck of a watch. The more I look into it the more it sings to me

Exactly, I’ve been looking at a few watches, and this one just seems right.

Picked one up last week and love it.

Highly recommend getting it if you can find one.

Love mine, have worn it a ton since I got it. Wears extremely well in a lot of different settings. Unfortunately Tudor seems slow to push out most of their titanium watches so they are still fairly hard to find in the wild. Worth a wait though in my opinion.

They seem to be easier to source now through AD’s

Absolutely killer watch. Had the chance to try one on at a AD last week and it just felt great all around

My AD offered one. As I went to go pick it up, I was disappointed in the sunburst effect on the dial and bezel insert. If they kept it as a matte dial like the previous version, it would've been on my wrist already.

Is the Pegalos the same watch other than the size and date.

They haven't even been on display at any AD's. Finally tried one on in Singapore of all places...lots of Tudor ADs there. None of them had any available for purchase, but a few had one for exhibition.

It's a solid watch, more tool than luxury. I liked the feel of it on my wrist, the micro adjust is good not great (nothing like a Sub glidelock). I also voice what many others have said about the sunburst dial-- would much rather have a matte dial.

I'm not sure if I'd buy one now that I've tried it on-- but I already have a Sub, so perhaps my view is skewed. I don't think I'd give up my Sub for a Pelagos either.

I'd love it if Tudor offered a matte dial blue Pelagos 39--- that would be nice!

No. Quite different pieces in terms of finish and presence - the 39 has a sunburst dial, radial sunburst effect on the bezel, less depth to the dial, standard style clasp, lower WR, etc... all of which I dislike compared to the original Peli. The 39 is definitely less "hardcore" than the original: I think of it as the "Pelagos Lite".

Personally speaking I was distinctly underwhelmed by the 39 when I had the opportunity to try it on at a Tudor event, but I seem to be in the minority.

It's a delightfully boring watch, and I say that in a good way. No-frills time-only with a useful timing bezel that is very precise and tactile. On the fly microadjust and a light titanium bracelet (though the clasp can be sharp). Doesn't attract much attention.

This is ridiculously easy to recommend to newbies to the luxury watch world (kind of like the 5 digit Sub of yesteryear), and one of the better GADA type watches on the market imo.

Having said that, in a larger collection it has a hard time standing out. I don't find myself reaching for it that much tbh.

Great watch. Pretty much all I've worn since just before Christmas. I didn't want to wait and paid a small eBay tax to get it sooner. Highly recommend. Has its own character from the OG Pelagos. Size is wonderful.

I just got mine today. Bought pre-owned. My AD has only received 2 since it's release. I think the proportions are great and I love the pop of red. The 42 Pelagos is too large for my wrist.

Saw one in an AD window in London 2 weeks ago. First one I have seen. Looked very nice, I liked the contrast between the black and the white. Size looks great too.

The dial has a very faint radial design , wore mine for a couple weeks before I even noticed it. The bezel has an interesting effect and kind of goes gray in many types of light, so it doesn’t clash stark black against the grey of the titanium. Extremely comfortable.

Tried one during a trip to Europe a couple months ago.

Compared to the OG Pelagos:
- Definitely has more 'life' to it! (The original is _very_ muted in all respects. Bland, even.)
- Bracelet is even better than before
- Diameter at bezel close to 40mm, so it's a totally mainstream size
- Yes, light. This is desirable in any 'sports' watch. (Imagine running, biking, swimming...)

I think the Pelagos line is the best that Tudor has to offer. No faux rivets, the snowflakes look like they belong, excellent water resistance. True tool watches.

Interesting to see so many comments on people who don’t love the radial dial. I only ever notice it under very specific lighting conditions and angles. Wonder if it gets exaggerated under terrible AD lighting. To me it’s an extremely subtle detail that most would miss and on the bezel it adds some variation that feels like an old metal bezel.

To me it’s all you’d want from a tool watch. Well made, well priced, well sized, a few subtle details for anyone paying attention.

I called my AD the day it was announced and I’m still waiting… Guess I gotta go to the Istanbul airport!
