Rolex Yellow Gold

Both these photos were taken from the Rolex site of yellow gold Day Dates...but the colour is clearly different on the two.

Can someone please confirm in real life which of the 2 is the yellow gold most like?

I'm hoping it's the second one as the first looks really washed out to me!

2nd

Although the 2nd is closer, neither is really capturing how fantastic the YG looks in person. Most web sites have poor color for this model. If at all possible, go and see one in person (but beware you might be unable to resist buying).

Ye, I've seen hundreds and photos and most look like the bottom one...and like your Sub Arbees.

I've tried one on and loved it but can't remember what it looked like on my wrist and when I saw the photo on the Rolex site above had second thoughts!

Seems I don't need to worry!

I had second thoughts as well and almost went rose gold (root beer). Luckily I was able to see them side by side and the answer was clear. I have a rg ym as well but really prefer Rolex yellow.

Not a DD, but this is what the YG looks like with the right lighting:

I think the first pic is more accurate. The second one looks more on the Rosey side.

I would say the color of their YG is closer to the second image you provided in your post.

Many people mistook my YG sub for rose gold (which doesn't even exist). It's a nice yellow.

Yeah just depends on lighting. Bright sunlight and it can look straw colored, candle light makes it orange.

No kidding. I wonder if we'll ever get one. I would love to see the Sub in RG.

That's exactly what I thought. It has a horrid green tinge to it!

Luckily it appears from the actual photos everyone has posted that it doesn't exist in real life!

It's all about the lighting with these photos. I believe the best view is in direct sunlight or an approximate artificial light source in person. ihmo.

It hard to find a perfect image and color correct yellow gold on an internet site but here’s my two cents worth…

Depends on the light, but it is definitely a warmer yellow than your 1st pic, and not so rose as your 2nd pic.
