Sell my AP 15300 for a Daytona or GMT BLNR?

Hi all,

I have a six watch collection that includes two Rolexes (one Oyster Perpetual and one two tone GMT Master non-ceramic) and a Patek 5711 Nautilus blue dial. Last year I acquired an AP 15300 that is seeing less and less wrist time most likely due to its similarities to the Nautilus.

Recently I've taken a liking to the BLNR, and was thinking if selling the 15300 to fund one is a rational thought. Or, perhaps, hold out for the new Daytona Ceramic, though this might take much longer.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 15300 and thought I pretty much had a good collection, what with having a 5711 and a Royal Oak together...but, I guess I'll never be satisfied....

Do you guys think that the 15300 would start to get rarer in the future, and should I just hold on to this? Or just go with what I feel and get the BLNR?

Any thoughts guys?

One could entertain the idea of trading an AP RO for the new Daytona perhaps but a BLNR? Seems like a significant downgrade IMHO.

Oh, I wasn't thinking of an apples to apples switch. Perhaps with the extra cash, I could get another piece, say, a Speedy. But thank you for your input.

If you're not wearing it then yes, make a change.

Owning both 15300 and BLNR, the 15300 would stay in the collection long after I sold the BLNR. It's beautifully finished, is an iconic design, is more than robust enough for daily wear, and you get great service from AP.

Keep the 15300. It's a timeless AP.
I have long regretted selling mine :(

Sentimental value in the TT GMT I take it? Otherwise that's the one to flip towards a Blnr

If you really wanted to switch things up--

Replace the 15300 with a Ceramic Daytona

Replace the 16710(?) with a BLNR

Do what works for you. Regarding the 15300 getting rarer, well it's been discontinued and AP makes plenty of ROs in different sizes so I wouldn't anticipate it rising in value.

Ceramic's cool and all, but it's not enough to part with a Royal Oak.

I really like the 300, and yes it is getting to be a rarer piece. I'd maybe sell it for a D500 but not BLNR.

No way. Would not sell it for a rolex but you should get a daytona without selling. They make a great pair.

I agree

The blnr seems readily available now and is flipped quite a bit from what I see. A great reference, but easy to pick up down the road.

had the blnr, nice watch but certainly no AP, if you don't wear it sell it but not for a blnr, for at least the Daytona or something else

I would not trade the 300.
