Rolex 1.00.07 box?

I have a vintage green ‘coffin’ box marked 1.00.07, similar to the one below.

The best info I can find is that it’s 70’s/early 80’s for datejusts, likley from the US market.

Any ideas if this is correct?

Yes I have seen very similar ones that were marked ‘Service Division’ or similar.

It would make sense as I can’t imagine they were used at the point of sale.

Any idea of date - I think 70’s/80’s?

If you google this box, 1.00.07, you will find different versions that were used in the 60s / 70s and actually used as original boxes for some models. The outer cardboard box would have a sticker with the model number.
Not sure abou..the one in the picture..

The 60’s/70’s versions are slightly different as far as I’m aware. The internal cushion is different and sits higher than the box exterior, giving it a slight lip.

The top picture is what I assume is a 70’s/80’s box. Possibly service.

The second picture is a similar box which I think is the earlier 50’/60’s version that came with some bubble
backs etc.

There doesn’t seem to be much info on these boxes on line though.
