For me it is just the size. I bought the new 42mm YM because I wanted something a little larger.
My wife had the 37mm for the same reason. She has much smaller wrists so the proportions of the 2 watches are very similar on us. |

Do you purchase a watch based on it’s popularity or do you do your own thing and buy what you like? Never follow a crowd, particularly on social media.

My wife tried one on yesterday and it looked great on her. As did the rose gold 40mm on OF on me :)

Some people feel anything under 40mm these days is “feminine” as are under the “bigger is better” mentality. I like a lot the 36mm size and would not hesitate on a 37mm watch if I like its look and fit me well. If you like the 37mm size on your wrist go for it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

It doesn’t talk to me specifically, because it does not have a personality (my opinion). It looks like a smaller sub with a different bezel. Also, 37 mm us on the small side. For me sweet spot is 39-40 mm.

36/37mm Rolex's in general are less popular than their bigger counterparts.

Probably because there is no 37 mm YM. There is a 35 mm.

Because the bezel is gaudy and just plain butt ugly.

It looks like any other costume jewelry tchotchke made to resemble a Rolex...something you'd pick up at T.J.Maxx for $29.95. Certainly, one day it'll become a prized collectible. I won't live to see it happen.

People are locked up in their own brains..
They cant conceive of wearing a watch under 40mm..esp if a guy.. Small watch...small...P****...lol.. No guy wants to risk that..hahaha... But.. If they were blind.. They would pick the small one.. Because it is so comfy on the wrist.. But then they wouldnt need it...lol.. |

Love my Yachtmaster, but in 40mm guise. If 37 fits you well, then I say go for it. sorry for the terrible lighting folks - doesn’t do this dial justice..

Not sure that many people on this forum like YM's, most seem to focus on the 'Sport' models followed by the DJ, there are certainly more threads on Subs, Daytona's, GMT's and all their variants than anything else.
I tried on a YM Blue dial 126622 at the weekend, it was very different but in a good way, I really like it just need to decide if it is a watch I want to own. My AD has said that the watch is readily available if I want one, much easier to get than the 'unobtainable's'. The 37 is possibly too small for my wrist, certainly a 36 DJ looked tiny on my wrist, but the 40 looked good. So if you can carry off the smaller size my view would be buy it.

Congratulations, it is an awesome watch, very versatile, how are the PCL's holding up or are they the reported scratch magnets?

It looks great on a small wrist but most people have average sized wrists so they prefer the 40mm.

I bought one for my wife recently and it looks great on her! It's a beautiful piece especially with the chocolate dial.
Because of the YM styling, I like the 37 better as a slightly oversized ladies piece more so than a smaller men's piece.

It looks smaller than 37 in person to me, maybe because it's all bezel. My ADs had one for awhile and asked if I wanted a great deal for my wife. She's into watches a little and wears a DJ36. At first I thought no and was afraid to ask her but now I'm thinking of surprising her with it for Christmas. It is really a nice piece.

No offense but that watch looks way too big. It might work because you can share it?

I find the bezel not as aesthetically pleasing as, say, the rest of Rolex'.
The extruded numbers have this design dissonance in its overall look and feel. But as everyone would tell you, it's your preference that matters. It's just all about health, happiness & family. The rest are just necessary inconvenience we have to deal with. |
