My next Patek, 5164 or 5130/1G-001
Hi Guys,
I’m looking into a traveler Patek watch. Either the Patek 5164 GMT or Patek 5130/1G-011 world time. As both are very close in value. Let me know your choice? Why? Thanks! |

It really depends on you and ur personality. I prefer world time watches vs travel time. As what I do is on a global basis. Travel time I find is an utterly useless complication for me. If only I worked at 2 locations only at one time.
So really depends on you and what u need it for. Separately. Which is ur personality? All of the hot coveted watches are coveted by a very standardize group of people. Whatever u do. Make sure u get the right strap sizes... nothing uglier than a 5131G with a strap 2 mm off lol |

I would go with the 5164 over the world time. Both are great watches.

I like the 5164 because it's so versatile in terms of water/sweat-resistance and legibility (lume, too). Really great for jumping in the pool/ocean, rainy/monsoon season parts of the world, adventuring, etc.
The world time is also a great travel watch, but as Fat_Ninja said, if you need to know multiple location times at once. More useful if you have people/business in many time zones across the world that you're following. Leather strap, not as water resistant. Comes down to your life/travel style and preference. |

5130G I like a lot, but the 1G is not great imo. The bracelet is very shiny and just looks strange.
5130G will cost a lot less than 5164. I would go for 5130p, would still cost less than 5164 if you pay grey prices. |

For owned prices, the 5264A is certainly inflated in price and the 5130/1G is quite discounted compared to their respective retail prices. It's almost like some users here asking to compare a 5711/1A vs a platinum PC because their prices are similar.
Travel time is more useful if you travel regularly between time zones and you want to quickly check the time at your home time zone. World Timers are useful for those who may or may not travel, but does business with or have regular contact with others in different time zones. |

That strap may have been the wrong width but I loved the color. But why is that. guy after Ninja? Ninja gave some good advice to OP.

I personally do't travel that much anymore and when I do, I can do the tme difference in my head. So I would pick based on looks and I think the world time looks fantastic. Pick one up pre-owned.

Glury01, looking for Mint or VG condition Pre Owwned on the 5130G white 18K white bracelet. I prefer the 5130 for the 39.5mm size with the protected crown, rather than the new 5230 38.5mm

Fat_Ninja, I don’t travel that often nor do I need time across the globe, once in a while... I really do like the 5164, but the premium is 🤯. On the other hand 5130G is a much better value, even with gold bracelet on. Is it REALLY that hard to get the 5164 at the dealer? |

There both good looking watch, the 5164 is definitely an all out watch. The 5130G, you get more for your money, realistic value and lots of Gold. Compare to the 5164 is Crazy double price, even Preowned. That what make the decision Hard...
