Instagram Stunt/ hot liquid question

What do you all think of these screenshots below? Should I be asking "is it safe to...?" Wish I could link to the video but it's essentially an LVc in a cup being filled with hot coffee.......the things people do for click traffic....

In all seriousness, do you think Rolex included "near boiling temp water" as a test/ reliability spec? Spectacle aside, I'm wondering how this might damage the watch, if at all. Perhaps materials expanding beyond tolerances with prolonged exposure (e.g., seals expanding under heat?).

Disclaimer: I'd never subject a watch to this but I also don't baby my watches, I'm a believer in the rugged reliability of Rolex spec (for most models), just curious re: hot liquid, had never given that any thought.

These kinds of "tests" are nothing new.

I’ve never understood this. I hope he has a ultrasonic cleaner or he’s going to be smelling espresso for a while. It’s so weird lol.

That will not harm the watch in any way, it is quite an odd thing to do though

I was in Bangkok once and this guy did that wearing a seiko. Never took it off. Still worked. The arm was bad however.

Interesting question.

I don’t know how it would taste, but I’m certain the taste would only vary a tiny bit from day to day.
