I traded a 116203 DJ for my 14060M and couldn't be happier. It is just a classic watch with a timeless design.

Great review. Thank you. I gave my old Sub-Date to my brother and have been wearing a PAM 25---even took it to Iraq. But, it is no Rolex. Thus, I am looking to buy a new Subc. My question---why no COSC on this model? How does this make it different? I thought all Rolex' were COSC? Why would they offer a non-COSC? Is the price less expensive? What is the advantage, and, all things being equal---and I mean no offense, I am just ignorant---why would one purchase a non-COSC Rolex?

The only reason to buy a non COSC is the dial is less cluttered and to some that is a positive thing. It has the same exact 3130 movement in both the COSC and the non COSC models. Rolex simply did not send the 3130 movements for the non COSC models to get tested to get the certification.

Also, the non COSC does not have the words ROLEXROLEXEOLEX repeated in te rehaut. This is a positive for some people including me

Here is the face of my 14060M. See, the bottom of the dial has only TWO lines of text. It is missing Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified.

First post. Wandered into this forum like an alky into AA. Today, traded my Oyster white face, SS Roman datejust for the discontinued Submariner 14060m, COCS, bought brand new (with aforementioned trade), from our local AD. This will be grounds for marital counseling, or worse, if my wife finds out.
I love the simplicity and history of this watch. It's unique in the current line up.
I also have the Oyster white face SS/Gold two tone Roman datejust for dress up.

Very nice watch Chiko323.
I have one like yours.
I think it's the most classic sub ever.

I have the 14060M cosc. IMHO, the only difference between the COSC and Non-COSC version is one was tested, the other wasn't. Both are awesome and whichever you have, wear in good health.

Hi Pete, good to hear from you sorry I missed your messages. The local AD in Adelaide is J. Farren Price in Rundle Mall Its the only one in Adelaide. Not a great experience for me. They are very rude.
So I have bought from :
1) Nicholas Hacko in Sydney. A great watchmaker and second hand Rolex dealer. He is to be trusted. Great selection of watches.
2) Armadale Watch Gallery in South Yarra is another great used Rolex dealer. I have bought two rolex watches from them in the past ( Bruce is the contact there)
Again great to deal with.
3) The Watch Collector 430 Little Collins st Melbourne. Director Michael Chilinski ) Great guy. I have bought from him as well . I will be visiting him next week. He does really good case refurbishing for lots of watch dealers all over Australia.
So if I cant buy from either of these I will not buy.
EXCEPT: I saw that you bought from David SW. Did you have to pay customs duty? What are the details of your purchase. I would love to give him a try buy scared that it might get lost in the post or having to pay GST and customs duty. If you could let me know it would be appreciated.
The current exchange works against us though.
MY private e mail is : kingsmob@bigpond.net.au
Glad to hear from another Baptist and one who appreciates watch collecting. Its a bit of a lonely hobby for me.
kind regards

Paul

After owning a 14060M for over a year I found it's only fault is I never want to take it off, My Seadweller, Speedmaster etc. sit in thier box only to be looked at once in a while.

That's a great review, I've been doing a Google search on the 14060 and all results are very positive and I'm so glad I've made the same choice.
Mine now wearing a black nato until I get a replacement pin put in the bracelet.
Keep up the good work.

Absolutely torn between a COSC 14060m or an Explorer 114270, and it's torture.

Can anyone please tell me the last year the 2-liner was available? I have 2006 written down, but I'm not sure where I came across that figure... AFAIK the 14060M 4-liner was produced up until 2011...
