Seadweller vs explorer II
Hi Guys
Just a quick one, i'm looking to add another Rolex to my collection however i'm not sure which one to go for. The 2 i'm tossing up are the Seadwellwer (pre new model - the deep-sea is to big for me) and the explorer II black face. Just want to get some feedback and comments on both to help me make up my mind. I would buy both however i have already bought 2 watchers this year. Thanks |

Exp II if it's the 42 mm model
If not, then the SD

Both are beauties and are likely to be about for a while. I already have the Explorer and am now looking out or the Seadweller to add to it. You definitely need both!

I wish you could have both in one model.
Rolex could put the 24 hr complication movement into a SD case and print 24 Arabic #'s around the edge of the inner chapter ring. The bezel would stay just like the original SD. Come to think of it, sounds like a job for Jocke! Absent that happening, the Expl. II

Here's my choice:
I like both but if I could only have ONE the SD is my 'tool watch' choice. |

I have both and love both, but for my wrists, the Exp II is a bit more comfortable.

Tough choice Matt. But looking at your collection I'd go exp 2 42 ....It's a top watch

EX II 42mm all the way for me, but you can't really go wrong with either.

Since you have a Sub already, I say the ExpII. The SD is awesome though... You could get both and sell the Sub to make up for it..

I have both - love them, they share wrist time equally... If I had to decide and could only have one, I think it would be the SD (but thank god I don't have to decide!)

You should own both. Pickup the EXP II 1st since you already have the LV. Then go for the SD a little later. I did it the other way around. Got my SD as my first and just recently got the EXP II. Love them both. And actually thinking about the LV as my next one.
Can't really go wrong either way but I think you will like the difference in the way the two watches wear. Good hunting! |

I own both (older models, not new styles) and they wear completely different. They are both great models in their own right, with tons of Rolex DNA. The SD is a bit of a top heavy tank and the ExplorerII is a slimmer watch...both have a lot to offer though.
