Pocket Watches Assistance

I have a very large collection of miscellaneous pocket watch that I am looking to do some due diligence on. Are there any recommendations of websites I could use to figure out what I have? What would be the easiest and most efficient way of figuring out what they are worth??? Thanks so much!!!

I would probably just buy the Cooksey & Shugart book.
Pocket watches have been taking a bit of a beating lately.
It will give 3 prices, I would use the low price as an indicator of what the watch would be worth in excellent condition. Unless it is exceptionally rare, probably not going to get more than that.

And at least it would help you identify the watch and give you an indication of rarity.
Then you could investigate prices further on eBay.

Thank you very very much. I did purchase the book but how do I identify what watch is actually mind within the book?

The link I posted will let you pick the brand and then enter the serial number. It will then give you detailed results. Model, grade, etc. Even current values found online if you sign up for an account.

You have to know the makers name first.
The dial and/or the movement are marked with this.
If a watch has a "private label", made for a specific jeweler, it may not have the makers name. Then you have to compare the watch to pictures of the movement plates in the book.

Once the name of the maker is known.
You look for the name of the model.
Again it may be written on the dial or more often on the movement. You will need to identify the size as well, because many manufacturers made a model with same name in different sizes, and occasionally the difference in value can be drastic.
If you have identified the make but not the model, you can enter the serial number into the pocket watch database mentioned and it will give you the name of the movement and size.
