If you can swing it, add the Daytona, wear it for awhile to let the honeymoon period pass, and then bring out the smurf. Wear them back to back and you'll know.

Otherwise, you run the risk of getting tired of the Daytona and wanting your smurf back.
True, that has happened before. It would be nice to be able to swing both. I have always been a one watch person.

It would have been nice to see it happen this year. Unfortunately only Rolex knows.

I feel the PM ceramic Daytona’s will eventually be available with a bracelet, much to the dismay of oysterflex owners. It seems inevitable.

Just get a rubber strap for the 116619. You could either get a blue strap or white in rubber.
I bought a blue strap last year.

I would personally go for the WG blue dial daytona, but that is just me!

Its not the strap I want...its the dial of that Daytona...gray face dial is pretty spiffy looking...

Oysterflex is hard to trade as it has to get sized right from the dealer. Someone else's oysterflex may not fit you and you would have to pay handsomely to get another size oysterflex bracelet.

I have the 519 Daytona. It’s a great watch for almost any occassion. I say almost because the dial is hard to read with low light conditions. So I say keep the Smurf (or another Sub) and add the 519. You will not be disatisfied with the OF it you get a good fit from the beginning. The micro adjustment along with the easylink is very comfortable to me.

Ah ok. From my experience, once that bug is in your head, might as well get the Daytona. If you regret it later, sell and buyback a 116619.

Both are great. I don’t think I could use that Daytona as my one and only. With that said it is the best Daytona reference in my opinion. Get it. Life is short.

Love the watch (Daytona) but just can't conceive of paying that much for a watch on a rubber strap.

My vote is to do the swap. The white gold daytona OF is one of the top three current rolex models in my opinion.

Have you tried one on yet? You might be used to the weight of an all-PM watch and may not care for the move to rubber.

I would think white gold watch with OF bracelet would be top heavy and be uncomfortable.

I love the blue dial on the Smurf and the OF of the Daytona. Hard choice!

^This. Or source a WG daytona (blue dial!) on a bracelet and add a rubber B.

Normally I am against the idea of trading a gold bracelet piece for a strap piece.

But in this trade, I would.

It is actually very comfortable. The oysterflex balances out the top heavy weight evenly so you don’t feel it on the wrist. Different from the balanced feel on the SS models, and even more so than the PM sports versions I’ve tried on.

I would do it in a heartbeat. The Smurf has been one of my least favorite watches to own. It’s not very versatile. I don’t like the maxi case. The Daytona is interesting to look at, has a nice complication, and is a modest size.

Just my opinion, though. There is a lot of love for the 116619 here.
