Ceramic APs

After having the pleasure of owning some offshores with the ceramic bezels was wondering...half the time they looking amazing and with the right light the brush finish really pops.

The other half they look a bit plasticky -anyone feel that?

Don't get me wrong, totally in love with these watches, but just wondering whether more aggressive brush finishing would allow it to show from a bit further away or differing lighting conditions..

I'm not a fan of the ceramic bezels myself, but I know there is something for everyone. I'm a RO fan so I love the steel or PM bezels

I agree. Many times I thought I’d like a more prominent brush on the ceramic bezel. They even seem to be going lighter on the steel brush as well.

As for aesthetics, I prefer the look of steel or gold (just look at the 44 Summer Edition).

I typically favor PM over SS or ceramic but lately I've been warming up to the ceramic RO's. Certain models do have a luster effect that pops a bit but in a subtle way.

I would love to hear from those that own ceramics their personal thoughts.

I think the brush is a about right, I have taken some pics with dramatic lighting and the brush effect can be very enhanced and it almost looks like wood grain which is a bit too much.

It's not as pronounced on some of them. But tell me the white ceramic perpetual doesn't look from a distance like plastic? (Blasphamy I know).

Loving the 44cg man; that and the 5170P. I'll hit you up if I ever want to part with them.

I noticed something similar when I tried on that Grey Ghost / 42mm ROC the first time. Purely light dependent.

The black ceramic luckily seems immune to that effect.

The white is too faint, needs to be more pronounced as it is white, but not the other colours.

Undwrstand what you are saying but dont have issue with black 44 CE, think black one is most immune to this. Also black ceramic PC looks great in pictures (haven’t seen it live unfortunately) while white at least in pictures has bit of plastic look.

Overall so far couldnt be more pleased with ceramic as material, zero signs of wear, not too heavy, finish etc everything works great together...
