Rolex 16710 doubts...

I’m interested in this 16710, from 2005.
What puts me off is the hand stack normally the 24hr hand is between the hour and minute hand, also I couldn’t find the same crown on the dial on any other 16710, and the etched crown in the glass is normally only visible with a loupe.

The owner told me it’s been serviced by Rolex and therefore 100%genuine.
I’m hoping to get your opinions on this watch.

The hand stack and bezel insert has me wondering. The font specifically...

Yeah, I’d want proof of service and better pictures. I’ve never seen the crystal crown etching so easily.

It does indeed. Rolex has had several variances with their font design - especially on these older models. It’s hard to tell and I think we’re all taught to not trust sellers unless they come with solid references. And maybe this seller does.

Buy the seller, not the watch. Check the paperwork from RSC if he has it. Match serial numbers and have him call roc in front of you to verify.

I just did an image search of that model along with other GMT Master II's and I didn't see any where the 24hr was bottom. It IS on my Squale with an ETA though. The ETA has quickset for the 24 unlike Rolex quicksets the hour hand... It's suspicious to me!

Yeah, incorrect hand stack, it's going to be an ETA or AETA movement. Proceed with caution.

I concur. Definitely not correct and definitely not genuine. Move on and find a reputable seller with a genuine watch.

If you have doubts don’t buy. There’s so many of these anyway.

This one is easy:
All GMTII with wrong handstack are fake.

But mind you:
Not all GMTII fakes have wrong handstack.

It's a minefield.

There is more wrong with this watch than just the hand-stack.

Here's my one owner F ser. late 2004 I purchased a year ago..24 hand between minute and hour. This was the hardest one I own to find the etched crown, a 10X loupe wouldn't show it. I was convinced it was replaced until I saw it under a microscope. With that hand stack the way it is you need to see the movement, i can't imagine the hands being able to be assembled randomly.

Indexes look like pitting, this never seen something that bad even on much older models.

Its a fake. Common with reps. They cant get the hand stack correct because you're trying to build a complicated movement with $3 parts. But yes, some of them do have the CHS.
