Which Daytona?

I am planning to obtain my first Rolex, the model number is 116523 with diamond dot marker in the champagne dial, do you guys think it is a good combination, or should I buy it with black dial? can anyone give me some suggestions? or post some pics to persuade me in the right dirction. thanks!

I'm going to go left field with my suggestion.

Consider a gently used 116518 full gold for a couple of grand less than a new 116523 w/diamonds.

There are plenty of dial/strap options, I went for the 'modern Newman'.

I'm not a fan of the champagne dials.......... I would opt for black...

Steel Daytonas do absolutely nothing for me. This is the only Daytona I will buy someday:

I'm with Jets. The only real Daytonas are vintage. Get a 6263 or a 6265. Probably cost more than a newbie, but it is what it is. Why wear a wish-I-was?

Nice '6263' pic above.:

I'm with Lobo but would take it one step further. The only real Daytona is a pre-Daytona.

Anything over 1956 is a newbie crap Rolex.

Don't settle for second best, hell sell your kidney or one of your eyeballs to buy one..

I've been drooling over the TT Daytona with a black dial at my local AD, as well as the rose gold one they have - I prefer them to the steel one, certainly.

ok.

I would go for SS.... forever a classic.

Vintage may be too expensive but very addictive - avoid that addiction at all costs.
