Bergeon 7825

I have this tool for my GMT Master II and will be traveling through Europe this summer. Has anyone brought the Bergeon 7825 on a plane as a carry-on? I noticed TSA lists tweezers as approved, but wasn’t sure if this tool would full under that category or the potential to get taken at airports abroad. Thanks!

I bought the bracelet removal tool from tempoking here on the forum. It worked great. It was almost too easy. It was $45 and looks just like the bergeon tool. I imagine it works the same, too, for a fraction of the cost. More money for straps!

I have removed the bracelet of a 114060 sub using patience, curses and a wooden toothpick. It is possible, but I will be ordering the Bergeon tool soon, to make life easier.

I would gladly take some Hodinkee money. But actually I was just researching tools.

I have traveled with the 7825 and 1.6mm screwdriver within my carry-on crossing the CAN-US border and have had no issues. I also have traveled with the 6825 and was let through no questions.

Opps just saw the date - just as a FYI for other users

To put mine back on, I had to open up the bracelet (as if to size it) and that made it easier

To clean it in al ultrasonic cleaner

Some people say to do that at least once a year to get rid of all the grime that gets stuck inside the links

I have a Bergeon 7825, It is a very difficult tool to use, its opening is greater than the distance of the springbars so when you do not grasp the exact point it suddenly opens and scratches the lugs easier than with other tools, I dislike it very much. But that is my experience.

Can, please, somebody show a picture with the masking tape protecting the lugs?
Thanks...

I used clear tape as that’s all I had. But this is the idea.

I recently picked up a bergeon 7825 and even though it does make the job easier by some measure, it still can be a work of patience to get the spring bar in, depending on what strap you are using.

I looked at cheaper alternatives but decided not to save a few bucks on something I will be handling my rolex with.

Some people like variety so we swap out bracelets and straps constantly. I probably swap mine out twice a week. It's an easy process that probably takes 30 seconds.

Sorry for reviving this thread.

Looking to purchase the Burgeon 7825 for use on a couple newer Rolex’s and Tudors and I’m reading mixed reviews here. Is there a better tool I should be looking at?
