I really like the op39. I love the way it looks on photos. I have considered buying this multiple times and every time I tried on my wrist I was underwhelmed by the overall package. I think datejust 41 is overall a better choice.

Got the black dial myself. Semi regret not going for the white dial though. Love the way it changes colour. Black looks a little sportier though

Black was the one I first tried on at a boutique where I had the “aha” moment that this was one of the best fitting watches I’ve ever tried on. Black would have been superfluous with my Seamaster though so I went with the white. Found myself an Easylink and haven’t looked back.

Tried to love my op white 39 but never wore it. At first liked the simplicity but felt boring and did not get wrist time. I even tried it on suede strap. Much prefer my gmt ,dd and sky d.

It would be interesting if anyone could tell us if it would be possible to get a oyster-safety-clasp from the Explorer (214270)(or the Bracelet 77200) since its the Same bracelet Type for the 114300 Oyster Perpetual if you buy the watch there.

Are you more concerned about the clasp coming open accidentally or do you just want the Easylink extension? I think I’ve seen some pics of people putting on the full flip lock clasp, but I can say from experience that you can definitely insert the easylink.

Its not really a problem, i know that the newer clasps will probably never fail. BUT im on Active Duty and am concerned that i will always have to think about not getting that clasp-lever stuck on something (which will never happen). But it would just give me that feeling of extra safety. My Last choice is buying a 114300 and a 214270 and selling just the watchhead of the Explorer to get some Money back. does that sound sane? :))

Hahaha gotta do what you gotta do. But I imagine a clasp will come up for sale by itself on eBay at some point if you can wait a bit. eBay alerts are a lifesaver

Question to those of you that would want the OP with the Easylink: what do you think is a reasonable price for an OP39 in like-new condition including the Easylink?

I might be making an expensive upgrade that would require selling it, and in my (admittedly biased) opinion, the Easylink adds a lot of value, but I don’t want to overvalue it and get flamed on Reddit (or here).

There have been OP's with the easylink for sale in the classified section in the past. The sellers didn't seem to factor the easylink into the asking price. I believe the last one I saw listed with the easylink was just above 5k.

Interesting, I thought they were harder to come by. Wonder what condition they were in though.

Guess I might be better off offering the Easylink separately.

This watch has changed everything for me. Since it was purchased last year, I have worn it 95% of the time. I have many other great watches in my 60 plus number of watch collection. The only time it comes off is when I am under my car doing some hard wrenching. It goes as a dress watch to work, in the pool, or casual on the weekends. I really need nothing else except for my divers when I go in the ocean.
The bracelet is fantastic, but it also is fun to dress it with leather.
Downside: I still stare at this dial more than is healthy...

Since getting my Air-King the OP 39mm hasn't gotten wrist time.
Its just too dressy and slight for the aesthetic I like. The Rhodium is also very difficult to read in certain light conditions. I should have gone white, I think it's more functional. Although, in the right light condition the Rhodium is infinitely more interesting.
It's also not priced well now in the Rolex line-up, at least here in Australia. Another $1000 gets you an Air-King - which is a lot more watch in more ways than one.
Despite that... It's hard to get (again here in Aus) and I think the vast majority of the "not watch hobby enthusiasts" love it and buy it by the truck load. They're not easy to get.

Hi folks - new to the forum, and looking into the dark dark rhodium OP 39. Saw one on Bob's Watches for $5495, which is darn near the $5700 asking price. Called ADs around NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, LI, NJ, CT) and seemed like no one had one in stock...any thoughts on what this knowledgeable group would do? Generally like saving money with used things, but given that it's only $200 difference would love to pick up a new one if only I could find it!
