Rolex GMT II Pepsi
Hi, Looking at my next goal for watch collection. I just got new Batman or Batgirl 2019 on Jubilee and wanted to add GMT II Pepsi in next 24-36 months.
I am looking at something between 2004-2014 ? Differences in models during those years ? Thanks, T |

I think the GMT pepsi ran only until 2007 but I could be mistaken. Reference would be the 16710. Later models (rare) had the 3186 movement.

16710 and 116710 are both called GMT Master II. Did you want a five digit or six digit?

Yea 16710 ended 2007 and 116710 ceramic is 2014+. Here is information I found but
The Rolex ref. 16710 is the second model of the GMT-Master II collection. It replaced the GMT-Master II 16760 in 1989 and was in production until 2007. The GMT-Master II 16710 had a slimmer design over the older ref. 16760 and was made available with three types of bezels: black and red, all black, and of course, the Pepsi blue and red. Over its almost twenty-year run, the GMT-Master II 16710 underwent a number of modifications and this particular one dates back to 1990. Therefore, it’s an earlier model with the Caliber 3185 rather than the later Caliber 3186. Furthermore, it uses tritium for illumination – as denoted by the “T<25” on the dial – instead of the Luminova or SuperLuminova found on future models. |

One thing I am certain of.. a GMT Pepsi has probably been the most frequented written about watch model, on TRF, over the years.. do a search here and you probably have a years worth of reading..

Ok, So I think I have narrowed down to 2004-2006 model with D, Z, or M serial number. which I think matches those specific years. Just not sure on when the 3186 Movement was introduced 2006-2007. Now time to scope out what's available and start my list. LOL Still looking at 12 months out before I can buy another watch :)

Unless getting a 3186 movement GMT Pepsi is really a top priority for you, I would just get a 3185 movement version from 2000 to 2005. If you can find a good condition 3185 version that's unpolished and with minimal bracelet stretch, I would just get that instead.
The 3186 is a HUGE premium to have. It almost doubles the price of the watch. For that price point, I would just get a ceramic Pepsi instead of a 3186 movement.

100% agree with you sticking with something has 3185 movement unpolished and as you said decent bracelet.
Hopefully, i can start looking end year or early CY21. Enjoying my last purchase 2019 121670 BLNR Batgirl. I didn’t think I would like Jubilee bracelet but seems more comfortable then Sub C Black Dial. Thanks for all the input and definitely great watch.. |

Wow, Maybe I am wrong but someone just sold 2007 M Serial 3186 on forum for under $15K. I wish I had the funds for that as only value is going up.
Oh well will find my keep sake in 9 months …. |

Get the latest serial model you can reasonably afford imo. I would not get a 3186.

Follow up for anyone with knowledge on this item. 16710 Pepsi
All of the articles I have read indicate the last year with 3185 movement is 2006 Z serial ? or are there any 2007 M serial that still had the 3185 movement ? Thanks, T |
