I like learning about things, and this is a fantastic place to learn about Rolexes. I am also rather impressed with the quality of the posts, and low level of acrimony- somewhat rare here in cyberspace.

Aloha to all. I found this site when I googled "rolex forum". I'm currently in the market for a Daytona 18K YG 116528. Found this forum to be super knowlegable and can't seem to stay away for more than a few hours before checking again.

Thanks for the invite Larry. It seems that I'm a chronic lurker, don't know why I don't post more... Since my SS Daytona arrived, I've spent a lot of time here.
Thanks to all, for all the wonderful posts and info, I love it. In fact I think I'll become a pledge member - RIGHT NOW! |

Good question....
I am a member of four different Rolex forums and each is very different.....
I've found this one to be very friendly and not as nit picky as others.....To me this is all about having fun.....I mean if it becomes a drama, then why bother.... |

I'll bite--might as well make this my first post. I'm the type of person that takes *forever* to decide when I'm thinking about making a big purchase--mulling it over in my head, trying to gather as much info as possible, etc. Wanted a Rolex for quite some time (thought I had settled on a stainless DateJust, although the more I poke around, the GMT II is really tempting, and realistically I'd probably wear it more), and am heading into the home stretch of my mulling-over period. Been reading here as a guest quite a bit, and finally decided to register to do a few searches for online dealers and such. And now you got me to post...guess that's the next step in becoming hooked! :)

I joined because this is the only place where I can find people who enjoy watches and especially Rolex watches as I do. I know there must be a few people around my area who share my interest but have not met them yet. At TRF there are photos, tech info, new Rolex watches for sale or trade each day..It is the first place I check out as soon as I hit the PC and last thing before hitting the sack.
By the way, thanks for everyone's help and keep posting the great photos. Have a great Rolex day. |

I've lurked on here for some time, and you can just tell that this is a group of individuals that have a passion for their watches and other hobbies, but don't go after other members like you see in other forums. Very refreshing.... I started with an Omega, then got a Cartier... surpassed a big goal of mine not too long along, and now am looking to reward myself with a Rolex.
Thanks to the many of you with their insightful postings that have helped me as I decided which watch to go for. |
