Identifying Montblanc Meisterstuck Pen Real or Fake

I have several of the Monbanc Classique ballpoint pens that I've had since the 80's and 90's. All have "Germany" on the top band of the clip, a few have a serial number but others do not have a serial number. I've read that Montblanc started adding serial number's in 1991.

I have no reason to believe the pens without a serial number are fake as they look and feel identical. Is there another way to be sure?
