I have the plexi on my 372. Its the cherry on the cake. The plexi imparts a warm, mellow feeling to the watch and gives it a true vintage feel. This is very much part of the charm of the 372. In any event Polywatch can deal with most scratches without difficulty.

How long have you had yours? Are you expecting any natural degradation of the crystal or should it stay pretty much mint if you don't inflict the damage?

Mine is a December 2016 model which I acquired from the original purchaser in September this year. I have also owned a plexi Speedy for two years and vintage Sea Dweller with plexi for a few years. I’ve not noticed any degradation of the plexi glass on any of these watches. I think plexi can get brittle but it takes many years ( perhaps more than 20 years). So I’m expecting it to stay mint as long as it’s not damaged.

Expect some patina to develop. If it gets too bad you can replace it.

Mmmmm, sort of. I can fight the urge most of the time until Naughty Nick posts THAT picture. I've said it before and I'll say it again; that is one of the best watch shots I've ever seen on this forum. The 372 feels like one of those pieces that I MUST HAVE.

However, I don't have anything with a white dial and that 654 is screaming at me, too. Oh boy

Thing is, I have eight beauties to play with so I'm trying to follow your advice and focus on enjoying what I have for now.

Back to OP, if I were gonna pick up a 372 any time soon, I'd still go sapphire. As much as the plexi gives a beautiful vintage look on the 372, especially if you can find a distressed leather strap like Naughty Nick's, the scratches would drive me bonkers.

Given your collection, I would focus first on the 654 before worrying about the 372.

My thoughts exactly, my friend. Whilst I love the 372, I have nothing with a white dial so it's sort of a no-brainer

It’s a beauty

I went into OP Singapore yesterday and they’re sold out. Unfortunately, they have no idea if there’s going to be another run of the 654. Just as well I love what I have

I recently purchased a PAM372 with plexi and regret it. Should have gone sapphire.

That Plexi really looks good. I would definitely go with that.

Why regret? I also bought a 372 with plexi (r series) and i love the dome look... i have not seen or felt how the sapphire one feels (only seen it in pics)

a little poly watch and you're good as new.

good luck

Curious what you thought makes it “much nicer”?

I love the dome look also. The sapphire is the same ( actually domed even higher). I’m just not sure what the perceived “warmth” is that many people refer to on the plexi dial compared to sapphire? Is it a slight tint that darkens or changes the colour? Any photos I’ve seen side by side of the two watches I don’t see a difference in “warmth”.

just touch the actual plexi....it’s warmer than sapphire. nothing ‘perceived’ about it.

You are referring to the temperature of the glass to the touch?? What does that have to do with the appearance?

scratches are minimal and with a little polywatch are *poof* gone

How? Beside being warmer to the TOUCH?

I have noticed that dial colour changes in a pleasing way depending on the light between a dark brown black to almost dark green grey in brighter daylight, but do not know whether the plexiglass has anything to do with that or if its the dial. I have not worn the sapphire version to compare.

I have the N series plexi and have tried the sapphire version, the sapphire version is noticeably heavier and the dial of the sapphire version seems more black, however the sandwich dial on sapphire version looks shallower

The dial on plexi version looks more matte with deeper sandwich and engraving

Pam should stick with 372 plexi and do another pam number for sapphire version (1372?) with other small differences like patina vs green lume, printed vs engraved writings etc

Thanks for the feedback. I'll have an opportunity to compare the sapphire version next month in Vancouver. After wearing my plexi 372 for last week I have really been starting to dig it. I suspect it fits my 6.5 inch wrists better as its flatter and more secure than the top heavy sapphire model. We'll see....
