So I didn't get the Cookie Monster, Here's Why

Hey All!

I made a thread a few weeks ago about getting a new black dial, blue bezel in all white gold sub. My AD (also buddy) had it but was getting a shipment in of more watches and told me to wait a week and see what else he got. He did say he'd hold 126619LB for me until his new shipment came in.

Well I hadn't heard from him and had my mind set that I wanted that specific one (126619LB). So I went to his shop today to pick it up. I'm also friends with the manager. I see the manager and tell her I'm here to pick up that sub.

She tells me another sales guy just sold it earlier today. I was kinda shocked. I was like reallllllly???? The owner strolls over and asks me if I'm here to pick up 126619LB and I tell him yes.

The manager informs him, in front of me, that another guy sold it earlier today. So I tell AD "hey I thought you were saving that for me?"

AD tells me he might have something else for me and to hold on... I'm waiting a few minutes feeling a little discouraged.

He comes out with this (which is also on my want list).... I was very happy and took her home.

Congratulations not exactly what you went there for but a pleasant surprise that I’m sure brought a smile to your face am I right?
Mine still make me feel and warm and fuzzy inside almost a year later ;)

I would still hold them to the next 126619LB that comes in .Will take 6 months to 18 months before they see one again .
They were in trouble, so gave you a soft landing with the 126710BLRO ,which appeared by magic ..
Someone is going to wait a bit longer for his pepsi ..

Congratulations. It's a great watch. I find mine very difficult to take off. And a lot of money saved. Perfect.

Cookie Monster is a white gold submariner with a heft of a proper precious metal Rolex

With all due respect, I like the stainless steel BLRO as much as anyone here, but the two are not comparable, not even close. At least in my opinion, I would not consider a $10,000 entry level GMT as "way better" than a $40,000 18k white gold sub that is considered a heavy hitter by many.

Edit: Congrats to OP for an Amazing watch!

Love the Pepsi. I would still pursue the 126619lb. The weight of the white gold and warmth of the subtle yellow undertone is amazing.

And anything that stops "Cookie Monster" being used outside of kids TV is a very VERY good thing!

Congrats OP!
