For those sitting on the fence

For those sitting on the fence for a Grand Seiko l would say just do it. I was sitting on the fence on the snowflake for 2 years and I finally pulled the trigger a few months back as a birthday gift to myself. At that time I was looking at the white dial and blue dial Rolex OP and the sector dial JLC as well but finally decided on the snowflake and I’m glad I did. The finishing on the case, the dial, the hands and the markers are second to none. The movement is unique and precise and it has a respectable level of finishing. It certainly stands out from what the Swiss has to offer at that price level. It was a psychological hurdle to overcome to pay that kind of money for a watch that says Seiko on the dial. I would venture to say if they words Grand Seiko was replaced by a name from anyone of the Swiss manufactures people would line up to buy one even if it was double the price.
Call me crazy (my wife looks at me kinda strange) I’ve been spending a lot of time sitting with my wife in the hospital in the last few days and I’ve been carrying a loupe in my pocket to admire the watch to pass the time. Here’s a wrist shot.

Timeless luxury had one in their case a couple days ago. Don’t know if it was spoken for but it was there.

Thank you. It’s been a rough several months for her. She had cervical spine surgery five weeks ago. She was in pain for over 6 months before the surgery. We went to Disneyland and LA with our son, daughter in law and our granddaughter 2 weeks ago. She was in so much pain she had to be in a wheelchair all the time and when we came back she developed chest pain. I took her into emergency where she had 2 stents put in her heart (she already had 5). In retrospect I shouldn’t have spent the money on the watch because we ended up having to pay for a private surgery so she didn’t have to wait 2-3 years. But what’s done is done I’m just glad she’s still with us and on her way to recovery.
