Interesting conversation with a local AD

So was in the area and decided to pop into a local AD to see what they have out. It’s a larger jewelry chain that’s also a Rolex AD. As usual the SS case was empty. Started talking to them about how I just got into watches and hoping one day to get a SS Daytona. So I bluntly asked them what’s it take to get one, and that I understand how it works, where those go to their VIP clients and what’s it take to get to VIP status with them. They told me that if I spend 20k on jewelry, I can get a SS Daytona, like today. Interestingly enough, the Sky dweller is harder to get. Good to know. Guess they just became my go to for jewelry. Might have a SS Daytona by year end with all the holidays, bdays and anniversaries still coming up this year. Lol

Ask for 20k in gold bar and see their reaction.

This seems to be a very common trend amongst ADs. 20k might be cheap compared to some!

It’s a shame it’s come to that to get certain models.

I understand it, and get it, but it doesn’t sit quite right.

That's easy.

I would not be surprised people paid 10x that and is still waiting.
