Sell White DaytonaC for 116519LN?

OK, After drooling over Toms pictures of his new 116519ln I have the itch to trade my 116500 White for the OF. I know where Tom stands, any other opinions? Will I regret dumping the 6500?

WG>SS IMO. You only go around once. I say do it. Very little risk here. You can always trade back without losing much if anything.

Interesting dilemma. Just a FYI, there was an thread regarding the same dilemma couple weeks ago. You might also be interested in the comments there.

Good luck with your decision.

I suppose there are very few issues with this trade up, just make sure the OF is as comfy as the bracelet. I would only not do this trade if I had only strap watches.

Joe, I did exactly what you’re contemplating. I have absolutely no regrets.

Having two other full gold bracelets, the OF is a welcomed change. Compared to my Sub and GMT, it’s like not having a watch on at all.

The premium price you’ll get for the 500 will also help.

As long as you’re comfortable with the OF, I’d say go for it.

If other bracelets in the collection + ok with OysterFlex, sure, why not?

I absolutely would. But...if you're buying from a source other than an AD, make sure you're going to be able to source the size straps you need.

I would go for it, the WG is amazing. Try it on a couple of times and make sure you are also happy with the feel of the OF.

One of the nicest Daytona dials out there and really pops with the ceramic bezel. I just like watches on a bracelet, but if they made that watch in white gold with the oyster bracelet, I’d be there in a heartbeat. One of my friends from work has one and it really is beautiful.

I was just thinking of this last night, wonder what the delta would be on a trade w an AD or TS. Are you looking to trade for pre-owned or new ?

Really appreciate all the suggestions so far. I will go new because of the OF sizing if I do it. I guess I could always trade back down

Hell yeah do that. That SS is way overpriced. Jump to Solid Gold for not much extra.

It’s still substantial- even if he sold on his own for $18k, it’s another $10k cash assuming mSRP. And that’s IF he sells for $18k. If he trades he prob won’t get that. So I understand OP’s hesitation.

Haha, thanks. Don’t know about it being a GOAT, but it’s very close to it.

Do it. I never understood why people want SS so much other than price difference. The oysterflex is very nice if you like it. I like it but doesn't love it but for those who do it's a beautiful and comfortable watch. Congrats on incoming.

Attaching a picture when I was trying it again in my AD this past Friday. I didn't like it in the pictures but every time I put it on I really like the dial.

A few easy decision points:
1. Wait for Basel 2019 before locking yourself into a decision.
2. If you find yourself wearing brown shoes and brown belts quite a bit, maybe not the OF.
3. Try the SS with a black rubber strap, either the OEM OF or something like a RubberB to see how you feel about going off a metal bracelet.

Very good point about Basel. Actually forgot about it. Regarding OF, I actually owned both watches together and ended up selling the WG OF. Here I am now wanting to do the reverse.

Yeah why not. I generally prefer bracelets, at least on watches that were designed originally with one. I also am really fond of rubber straps on watches.

If you are big on rubber straps I’d make the trade.

Sell White DaytonaC for 116519LN?

I’ve got stainless and PM on oysterflex. If I could keep one, no contest. The gold. By far. I say do it. Unless both are an option. I will say i might have gone white gold had i not had the stainless. But i thought the look of those was too similar to justify. So i went YG stainless combo.

As I said earlier I had both together and realized you can’t wear both at the same time, and when I wanted to wear a Daytona the WG OF usually won. Regretting letting it go the first time. Since I bought the SS at retail I guess it won’t hurt if I HAD to buy one back down the road

I can tell you that I owned the white 116500 for about 8 months and I thought it was the bee's knees. But every time I saw a 116519LN, I would have my eyes on it thinking "damn I wish I had that one".

Now that I have the 116519LN in hand, I don't miss the 116500 at all. It really is a step up. If it was MSRP vs MSRP, I might have thought differently, but when I compared what I got for my 16 month old white 116500 on the grey market vs my out the door price on a BNIB 116519LN from an AD, it was a no brainer.

You might think differently though if you're not a fan of rubber straps on high end watches. I'm perfectly okay with it, having owned 2 Aquanauts before. Rolex's Oysterflex system is truly a cut above all the other rubber straps out there.

Love rubber straps, currently have a 5164a, which is the most comfortable ever
