I have a BMW and you have everything from bm3 to Dinan and all over the map for modding and different types of fuel, etc. The new BMW engine platform definitely is very solid and can handle some serious boosting over stock, and the stock transmission can handle anything but the most insane power boost.
I can relate to that.

When the four cylinder eco-boost mustang came out I was aghast. But the reviews are amazing.

I’ve been a V8 proponent for a long time. But I’m starting to think about all that advances they are making in technology and I’m getting on board. Albeit slowly.

And I get your point about it being BMW build. I actually much prefer this to the new Z4.

I look forward to seeing them both on the road tho.

Would love to know what older cars youe had. My old man had a 3000gt. Loved it.

The pair of Grand Nationals brought back memories. As teens, my friends and I lusted after that car. Hard to explain the feelings it evoked when they appeared on the auction block. It's like natsukashii.

Some is ways whining about something.

I loved the Supra since 1989. Much preferred that to the fast and furious model.

But no matter what, people will find reason to complain. Always.

They’re legitimate complaints. It’s a rebodied BMW from interior to drivetrain.

It def a BMW motor and drivetrain. Interior, exterior are much different. From what I’ve read they handle completely different. Time will tell. We’re excited about it...I’m guessing the first few will sell at MSRP....then we will discount.

Everyone thinks their complaints are legitimate.

All sorts of collaborations out there. This is no different.

And hey, if the complainers don’t want one, then that’s great. I suspect they will be hard to get for a good solid year. Maybe people will actually be able to get them without paying a dealer tax.

Doubtful. But maybe.

That’s right. You have a dealership right? Or manage one?

That’s interesting to hear your perspective. Certainly more valid than mine.

Still I’ll be surprised if they can be had at MSRP.

Resto-mods exist because the reality of muscle cars is they drive like shit, stop like shit, corner like shit, etc. And in order to fix all of that, you have to replace nearly everything because of how they were built. And if you’re going to replace nearly everything, you might as well do it right which costs big $$. The end result is you get to own your childhood poster car, but actually enjoy the experience of driving it.

Honda Del Sol VTEC SI with crate ??? tweak engine, Ferrari 308 GTS QV Euro spec with load of mods because I tracked in about 60 days a year, Formula 2000 SCCA race car (earned Drivers Championship), Ford Super duty F250, BMW 4 Series with every Dinan engine tweaks. ER charge pipe.... and the couple of Bentley's, don't ask, I'll never make that mistake again, big mistake, big mistake, big mistake, big mistake of getting Bentley, you get the idea.

And yes I have driven Porsche, lamborghini, Corvette, Maserati, Audi, etc. In my opinion a last great Ferrari was the F40, because it was the last true driver's car. I respects xbox computer cars, which are popular today, because you don't need talent or at least as much talent and that's actually good thing considering the average talent of many drivers who own these new hyper cars.

Imho

Oh, have driven a Lotus Elise tweaked turbo, I agree... add lightness.

The reality of a muscle car is that they drive like a muscle car. They aren’t supposed to drive like a Lexus. Keeping them under control is what makes them exciting to drive.

I’m OK with creating an artistic expression inspired by the muscle car, but the resto-mods are no longer the car they’re badged to be. So, why not name it a tribute car after the automotive artist that built it, rather than the car it no longer is.

As for the price, restoring anything old takes $$$. These seem to amplify those costs.

Ha. I like Bentley. The superspeed, imho, is incredible.

Quite a list of sick cars. And that’s a heck of a lot of tracking. Crazy how expensive that hobby is. I tried it and loved it. But couldn’t justify the costs. I’d also have wanted a dedicated track car. More expenses. Obviously.

Considering I’m one of those horrible drivers (even tho I think I’m awesome), I’m grateful for all the new tech in cars today.

I remember those VTEC cars well. They received a lot of respect.

Funny you say that. Back in 1992, I bought a 1989 Supra Turbo with targa. It was red, I then added a HKS exhaust and it sounded sick. I also added 6 star Borbet wheels. Back then, modding cars was just starting to become popular. I loved that car, but I blew the turbo on it and had a good battle with Toyota to replace it. Good times.

Dude. My dad had the exact same car.

I’m actually confirming the year. But sane body style, color and spoiler based on it being the turbo. This was just before the 3000GT.

I was so in love with that car.

Wow - and now I know where Rolex gets its ideas...

From Wiki: “The G63 AMG 6×6 was launched in early 2013. The company decided to stop sales of the car and declared the model completely sold out in early 2015 to maintain the model's exclusivity.”

I’m the GM at a Toyota and VW Dealer Seth. We’ve never sold anything over MSRP. The Supra will prob have quick high demand then interest will fall. We’re just excited it’s finally coming.

Yes, at the BJ show was authenticators that i paid very good money to verify and put their official sticker of provenance on the ax head. They said it was the best head they ever had... seen. Had to swallow... the costs, yet worth it for $275,000 payday.
