1665 sea dweller, 1976

Ive never seen a 1976 Double red 1665 sea dweller before, and happened upon this on a well know watch selling web page.

it mentions with white snow dots and hands and the asking price is 35K.

wanting to learn more about the dial I need to ask, for a 43 year old dial does this not look a little to clean? is it correct?

I'm not looking to buy other wise there would be a ton more questions and a an even bigger explanation to the wife !?!

Looks like an early service replacement dial and hands to me, ask if and how much it glows. Always list the first 2 or 3 digits of the serial number when asking questions, it will help the process.

What is wrong with that bezel?

Or was the insert reduced?

Here's my MK3 dial

That’s a mark4 dial not mark3. Mark 4 has funky spread out crown like yours, the mrk3 is more tradition crown..... DRSD.com

MK 4 dials are the most common, and there are some that can be white in this case. But insert+bezel looks a bit off. and winding crown certainly looks incorrect. I can't comment on the case, crystal, caseback or movement just from these pics alone.

but, whenever in doubt, just walk away

think you need a close up of the lume dots. Seen a few where the lume has fallen off, dial washed, the underlying white print has been exposed and new white service hands have been fitted to match.

That bezel is way off..
Looks like corrosion on the tip of the second hand, which seems a little inconsistent with the new white appearance of the lume on the dial and hands...
