He’s actually fighting bladder cancer right now. In fact, his bladder comes out on the 28th.

We just agreed that we are going to this together next year. He’s typically in Arizona for the winters anyway.

So I’ll be there. Let’s set it up.

Praying for your dad Seth. My wife’s grandfather had bladder cancer and lived for a long time after beating it. I know everyone’s situation is different but hopeful his is contained and he is able to kick its ass.

Thanks brother. I appreciate it.

My old man is a bad ass. So I expect me him and Nicks family will be walking BJ this time next year.

Just saw a cherry red split window resto-mod corvette.

Pretty sick 64 Shelby too in blue. So nice.

2020 Supras will be out this summer. They are making 1500 special launch editions. MSRP is $55k.

Watched many hours, good to see the market still has legs and there's still plenty of cash running to things of intrinsic value. While i get the whole matching numbers game on collectible vintage cars, the major resto-mod thing is weird. Different chassis, different engine, different suspension, body mods... how is this the same car it started out as to make it worth crazy money is beyond my scope of reasoning.

Am not at all surprised that modern Bentley cars lose 50%+ their value in only two or three years. Serves them right for building unreliable cars and waaaay over-priced service parts.

Damn. I missed the first one.

And those Supras will likely go for double MSRP. I’m not in the market anyway, but even with the mark up they will be hard to get.

Same here, attended once, one of the world’s greatest car shows, the hype drives affluent buyer egos to overpay.

Sad day for the candy red 74 Firebird. 200k build sold for 60k. Ouch
The interior alone was 90k. A lot of winners at this auction but not this car.

You mean the new BMW badged as a Toyota

Not even 400hp/tq with all that weight. Hard pass.

Fair enough.

It’s not for me either.

But I see the allure. And this will awesome for a lot of people. Myself included, even if it’s not my style. Besides, it’s going to get an incredible amount of mods available for it. Don’t be surprised when this thing is pulling off the chart numbers.

Surprised that you, or any car guy or gal, can’t see the beauty of what this car is. And at least appreciate it enough for that appeal. Instead of...well...you know.

The missus and I had the same observation. They're franken at best, fake at worst. I get the rolling artwork aspect, but it seems like a high premium for a borrowed name on a third party machine.

I agree. A couple $300k Art Morrison chassis big blown big block Vettes.

I say it is the glut of car building shows that has people wanting them but not wanting to wait for the big time builders like Kindig to build them.

Suffice to say they are the Daytona of the car world.

I really like the resto-mods.

But I suppose that’s typical for me.

I love the old school styling along with the technology and comforts of today.

Should they go for what a matching car does? No. I don’t think so.

But often they don’t. I saw a modded Ford GT go for 100k less than its original counterparts. And it was really well done.

I love watching, I have always wanted to buy one of the deal days cars and resto mod it. Having a boy racer 70 Chevelle or 68 Camaro with an LS swap would be sweet.

Believe me I do get it as I did the whole ricer thing back in the day. The real let down is the four cylinder and not the six, as that really would be the way to go and my opinion. As for mods, of course there's going to be plenty for them. I have a BMW and you have everything from bm3 to Dinan and all over the map for modding and different types of fuel, etc. The new BMW engine platform definitely is very solid and can handle some serious boosting over stock, and the stock transmission can handle anything but the most insane power boost.
