Rolex Cigarette Cards - Fake

Hi all, I recently interested in Cigarette cards that originally came with vintage boxes in 60-70s. I have done some homework and would like to share with you some of my findings.

- Most of the cards in eBay for over EURO 100 are fake.
- The yellowish color were made by coffee, or whatever, artificial color over the full card
- One of the version with curves around Rolex logo are easy to identify, just like the fake logo in bracelet clasp.
- Other version with only Rolex & Crown has some special fat fonts to identify if compare carefully. (For 660ft submariner cards)
- Most Sellers selling fake cards have perfect and over hundreds of positive rating.

Conclusion: these papers are rare, beware of sellers got tones to sell. IMO, do not buy loose papers. I only saw a couple that came with boxes and certificates were genuine.

For example, the one below is too yellowish (as compare to your certificates of same age) and the good example of fake logo.

the papers that come with my step dads 5513 are from 1965. He didnt store them all that well, but they were left in their plastic document holder all these years and they look fine. This photo just looks like someone has tried to fake patina on paper. Paper just doesnt age that way.

Absolutely, the picture below is an example of genuine card, not only the aging color but the fonts are all good.

Yes very close to mine, there are 1965's. Any document with splotched yellowed patina like the one above should be avoided
