Hello was wondering what's the possibility that this 3.3mil 1675 came out of the factory with a mk4 dial.
Or it's a greater possibility that it was changed during a service. Thanks Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk |

Hard to say. You have to ask...is it probable, and if yes, then it would be possible.
I would say maybe it is correct. I would never rule it out since nobody knows for sure.

Hi,
I have a TT 1675 with what appears to be the "nipple dial". What years were they produced? Thanks, JJW Last edited by JJW; 29 January 2018 at 06:34 AM.. Reason: add a watch |

From around 1970 until the 1675s were discontinued in 1979.

Greetings all, my first post here. Looking at the various dials has me curious but still confused. My dear friend left me his GMT which he used all through his airline career.
I believe it is a 1959 model with S/N 50xxxx. He may have bought it a year or so later. Unfortunately I have no way of uploading a picture until I have done more posting. It has Swiss TC<25 at 6 and a large arrow GMT hand. Also has the pointed crown guard. The printing looks white, not gold or guilt. My other watch by way of introduction is a 1979 Datejust bought in 1984 I hope to learn more about these classics and may post pictures when able. Good to be here. Enicarman. (I like them also) |

Thank you for that information. I don't ever remember my friend mentioning such service alterations. Not that I would ever sell this gift to me, but would such an update have much affect on the "originality value"? The bezel has faded in the red section but not the blue, but otherwise the watch is in good condition. The bracelet is not original or Rolex, but looks as good as the original may have.

Here is my 1959 GMT, which I have finally been able to upload. Would be most interested to hear those more knowledgeable give their opinions. The mark through the 6 marker is a scratch on the glass. A very faded bezel as you can see. I did have the watch serviced six months ago and it has settled into a -4 sec/day average since then.
Sorry but the attachment has refused to load. Most frustrating. |

As far as appreciation goes, the two-tone models do not seem to be appreciating as much as the stainless models.

Great information, thanks, Springer. Surely this is worthy of being a sticky if not already?

Thanks for sharing that wealth of knowledge. As a noob to the Rolex world who wants to buy his first vintage GMT, this is exactly the kind of resource I was after to navigate through the variations.
Thank you so much. Paul |
