Looking to buy a Rolex for a lady ---- need advice please!

Hi everyone and happy new year!
I currently own a ladies date just with ss jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel, and white roman dial. I bought it in 2005 and don't ever wear it anymore since it honesty is a small watch and has lost its appeal. I have noticed a lot of women in my area wearing mid size or men's size watches!

I have looked up its resale value and it doesn't seem to hold its value (my husbands sub and date just go up in value annually). My question is I want to buy a new Rolex for myself but am looking for suggestions. I don't want to make another purchase that will depreciate.

I am thinking a mid size date just with mother of pearl diamond dial or plain diamond dial. Any advice? What other models and styles are good for ladies but hold their value nicely?

Thank you,
Stella

Hi Stella
All Rolex watches loose there value over the first few years. I would suggest a men's Date just 36mm with a great dial. You can get a great buy from a lot of trusted dealers on the forum. Look up DavidSW on the forum. I put this one at least once a week. Yes I own 6 Rolex and a Tudor black Bay

Mid size 31 mm vs 36 mm men's size

Which one in general holds value better? Or does the dial make it or break it like MOP diamond vs plain roman

Sorry one more question. Can someone recommend another type of Rolex other than date just that is appropriate for a woman?

Yachtmaster is very nice and it has a bit of platinum on the dial and bezel so it has a bit of extra luxury.

I suspect the smaller watches depreciate more- now larger ones are more popular.
I have small wrists- and used to like small watches- still love and wear my very simple oyster 26mm.
Bought a 31mm datejust- in my Avatar - the 36mm same model looked to big. Love it- but it is not for everyday wear though I know I will love it for years and it gets a lot of wrist time.
I really liked the look of the 35mm platinum yachtmaster- but didn't look good enough for the price.
Then went around the second hand stores- tried on a 40mm Explorer 2 white dial- just loved it. The current Explorer 2 in the ADs is 42mm- definitely too big.
The main thing is what you want to look at every day rather than the depreciation
I found doing the round of Authorised Dealers and second hand places helped my decision.
Just my thoughts and experience

I know a woman that wears a Daytona with a white face dial, it looks great on her! In my opinion, the Daytona wears a bit smaller, and this woman is petite and has a small wrist.

I suggest you go to your local AD and try on a few to see what makes you smile :)

My wife is very happy with the TT Yachtmaster 29mm. You may consider the mid-sized 35mm.

I think your answer is an air king... 114200
New bracelet, great dimensions, and exceptionally good value.

Buy it right ($3k +/-) and you're set!

oops should have read that better

friend of mine tells me he often sells automatic watches to husbands for wives ,,, and a lot of them swap them for quartz very soon after ,,, rotation , or taking them off for long periods of time , tthe hassle of resetting them etc ,,, just what ive been told. hth

so maybe its quartz to be looking at , if thats the case there are some cracking pre owned things that if bought right will never loose money ,,, cartier santos jlc omega constellation, choppard all spring to mind.
but probably not rolex , unless your wearing habits wiil suit
mind you if your already wearing an auto ,, how about an explorer 36mm bought second hand they seem to hold their value , and have the chunky mans watch look , without being over the top.
