That’s a very interesting point and quite true.

Our contractor built it with the idea that if we wanted, we could close it in or do a partial close in, turning it into a 3 or 4 season living space.

I’d do that, especially this time of year

The advantage to winter here, is that we have spectacular sunrises.

This is the rafter structure of the front porch. I love the details my brother the contractor added.

That’s stunning Joey. Your upper deck looks a lot like ours (sans the closed in structure).

I really enjoyed following your build process. You have just a beautiful spot there

Jokes aside, I don't have a deck. I have a stone patio. I guess you could call it a rock-hard deck. Unfortunately it's covered in snow. There's probably a shrinkage joke in there somewhere.

Your deck looks like a great place to hang out and have long chats, Brian, very nice.

As for my “deck”, I have a “balcony” that’s not big enough for a flower pot, does that count?

A deck or a porch are a favorite. If you have a view, even better.

Any outside space counts my friend.

I used to live in downtown Toronto ... a much different view there.

Today's view

I need to replace my existing deck this year and I am dreading the process of finding a decent contractor. Plus an architect to draw up the darn plans due to permit requirements.
