That’s a very interesting point and quite true.

Our contractor built it with the idea that if we wanted, we could close it in or do a partial close in, turning it into a 3 or 4 season living space.

Jokes aside, I don't have a deck. I have a stone patio. I guess you could call it a rock-hard deck. Unfortunately it's covered in snow. There's probably a shrinkage joke in there somewhere.

I need to replace my existing deck this year and I am dreading the process of finding a decent contractor. Plus an architect to draw up the darn plans due to permit requirements.
