It amazes me how the plating has lasted
I believe back in the day these were probably around 50 or 80 bucks maybe. I saved my money to get it forever. And still it has lost no plating

Yes and no, I would say. The piece doesn’t say Rolex on it. I’d call it a Rolex copy, not a fake Rolex.

I believed them to be one in the same when it comes to TRF rules.. but I definitely see the counter point

Elgin is a legit brand and I believe they used to make pocket watches. It's always cool to find something from your childhood, especially that's held up that well.

I found one of my old swatches when I was moving a few weeks ago. It did not survive like yours

I can't believe some have never heard of the elgin watch company
They have been around since pocket watches.
By the 80s and 90s they were more of a brand you would find and still can find at Walmart and Kmart
Definitely not a fake Rolex.

the 90s, such a great decade. It was like the sixties for young folks. The music was incredible
From Tupac to Nirvana, Britany to Shania, Rock Rap Pop Punk Country all great music. Bill Clinton Didn't Inhale and Monica lied about being promiscuous with him The slang was incredible. We had Michael F' ing Jordan to watch along with Tyson. Great Basketball and Boxing. The LA GEAR LIGHT UP SHOES. Shows like Friends, Sorpranos, Seinfeld, Full House, Family Matters ,Sister Sister, Saved By The Bell,BUFFY, Rugrats, BARNEY and crap ton more. Super Soakers, America Online, that sound as it dialed to connect. I know I could type for ever GigaPets, the Lion King. Just everything about the 90s was awesome.

Not a fake.

Not trying to be passed off.

Has a different brand on the dial.

And personally I love the red day window.

Surprising that people have never heard of Elgin. They were one of the big names in the US like Hamilton and Waltham.

The 90s were certainly a great time to be an american. When I think about it very fortunate to grow up in such a prosperous and fun time.

Elgin is a well known brand. That would be classified as a homage as it is not using rolex branding. Similar to a steinhart.

Correct! I had a beautiful white gold Elgin pocket in the ‘70’s, wish I still had it!
