Bad Uber/ lyft drivers
anybody else here experienced drivers that don't know how to use GPS navigation properly ? Recently I have experienced drivers that just look at google maps from a birds eye view but then don't know where to go!!!
Also, what's up with drivers that don't speak one word of English (including google maps just in Chinese/ Spanish)? I wonder what Chinese or Mexican people would say if I drove Uber in their country but only speak German (including German navigation)!! |

As bad as uber and lift drivers are, they can't hold a candle to the taxi drivers here in Las vegas...

well German cab drivers are pretty bad as well but in the US it's usually pretty decent but have not taken a cab in forever other than one time in Vegas recently (and it was fine) when I could not find the ride sharing pick-up spot at the Aria...

They’re immigrants. And if you were in China or Mexico speaking zee Deutch, they’d probably help you or show you how to use iOS or Android. They likely wrote the code or assembled the unit. Besides, you don’t need fluent English to drive in the USA or be a contractor for a ride hail co, it’s a misconception. And your fare is pre-priced with the option to ruin their job with a tweet or not tip. |

I take Ubers probably 10x/week - as I travel often for work.
Most recently around NJ. Never seen such horrible drivers before Following a GPS seems to be a tall task for some as well Oh well

What's up is that they are trying to make a living. And you are trying to get a cheap ride.

more than not being able to communicate at all I find it very strange that some don't know how to use google maps but seems like most people drive here and don't use uber/lyft every day:)

Don't you know that everyone puts a Uber or Lyft stickers on their cars now so they can get decent parking spots at the airport. |

Many can't and won't find a real job so they start driving their cars to make money.
Some are professional and good drivers tho. |

That's why we have Taxis.
I've never Ubered or stayed in an Air B&B, and so far I've never been filmed in the shower or been driven around by an amateur with no navigation skills. It's not that hard. |

well for me it's either uber or the bus (with homeless people) given the choice I pick the 10% chance of getting a shitty driver

I've been in a lot of Ubers and had great experiences. And no vomit or urine smell.
You can choose your driver, and what they are driving. I've been in a Jag in Sydney, a Lexus in SF, a Mercedes in NY/NJ and a number of electric cars. Never had a problem. And if immigrants aren't your cup of tea (don't know why that would be) you don't have to choose them on the app. Personally I like talking to them to get their life story. |

I'm either drunk or soon to be drunk when I Uber. I have no idea if the driver is good or bad but I seem to always have a good experience.
