I think the owner left it dirty to use the dirt to give the bracelet a more solid feeling. I bet with all that dirt in there it probably helps support the bracelet and you won't see too much bracelet flex!

Looks like this was recovered from an archeological dig somewhere.

I could see something that looks like that in a museum in a thousand years. Ancient jewelry circa late 20th century recovered from deep in a jungle somewhere.

Mine get a bit dirty from time to time, but that’s a whole new level.
