So disgusting. And I fear you can't even toss it into the ultrasonic cleaner first of all, shall be necessary to take the bracelet off. I would really charge the triple to that lady. LOL! And please avoid repeating to quote the pictures all, ok?

I hadn’t heard about the steam being a problem for the seals before (only in a dishwasher where heat raises the pressure in a confined space).

I use a bar of soap so only have to worry about the shampoo on the seals.

Also wash the watch last thing of all just before getting out to avoid picking up bits of dead skin etc.

Likely if you wear it the same thing will happen; don't worry about it. As Bas has pointed out, the main issue is UV attack of the crystal seal.

I ultrasonic my bracelets once a year. Helps reduce stretch and you’d be surprised at the filth that comes out and that’s with rotating a 5 watch collection with a Casio getting all the dirty work!

In another thread I posted this photo and got sniped with "Dude, clean your Platona." I'm always embarrassed when any photo I take has a flaw on it. I always seem to be in a hurry to participate and sometimes overlook the minor details. Unlike many of the photos in this thread which I have a hard time believing actually happen. (I know they're real but it's hard to fathom.) Mine was a shot of a watch with sweat on it from running and the reflection of the bezel on the metal distorted by the roughened surface. This site has become a place to post perfection only. We all know that hardly anyone really gives good use to their little treasures. It's kind of sad than a bit of normal use can get sniped at so readily.
