Did you go black & gold submariner over Bluesy?
I’m considering a two-tone sub and I am looking at the black and gold over the Bluesy. Anyone out there who has one, can you explain why you chose that model over the Bluesy? Ever regret not getting the blue? And can you post pics?
I have a blue-dial DJ and think I’d rather get a black dial over a second blue one, even though I think the Bluesy is one of the best-looking models Rolex makes. And I think the black/gold sub will pair better with everything than blue. But I’d love to hear opinions, especially from people who have either model. |

You can’t go wrong with either, but the blue is special! |

I would. I always preferred black dialed Subs. The Blusey is a little to loud for me.

I think that the black TT Sub Date, and GMT are the best looking watch that Rolex has ever produced, and I have both.
No, I never considered the blue and wouldn't wear one if I had one.

If you like the bluesy more, you get the bluesy. Trying to balance out your collection never seems to work. I also have the datejust blue 41. Completely different watches. If you want to dress more conservative, you can go to your datejust. I also have a black sub. Man I am telling you, I have had a lot of great watches, can’t see myself taking off this bluesy much! I will say, the black looks much better in person. I just feel blue goes better with gold vs black, and this is coming from a Steelers fan!

Bluesy was my first. It had to be. I wanted nothing else. Now that I have her I’m noticing interest in the full gold version and the tt with the black dial. Either is high on my list of near future purchases. The black dial is a gorgeous watch. Go with what makes you happy and works for your lifestyle. Mine goes everywhere and really doesn’t have to match what I’m wearing to look stunning. Which is funny because one of the reasons I told myself I’d go tt was because it can go with gold or silver buckles on belts and shoes. The dial never crossed my mind, however blue is my color and I wear it almost daily in some way or another (beyond the watch).

Blue dialed watches are my favorite. I daily wear a YG/Blue Sub.
All my vehicles are blue. On purpose. While blue is an awesome color, black is actually the absence of color. Even when I wear all black clothing, my blue dial watch still looks awesome. |

I've owned both, found the black is more classy and the blue can look a little tacky I think my opinion

Not interested in yellow/black contrast, it makes me think of many things I don’t like, among which wasps.
Also, as I’ve just read elsewhere, blue and gold is the color of Ramses and other pharaohs, which is pretty neat. Maybe the bluesy should be renamed the Ramses II. |

Bluesy
Love them both, but there is just something about the bluesy! The new one looks great too IMO!

Difficult choice, back in the day it was always the Black TT sub i wanted, but i got offered the Blue so jumped on it, would have been just as happy if it was the Black, both are good lookers, but the Blue just about wins it.

It really does come down to what makes your heart sing! Get them on your wrist. Then, you will know which one belongs there. Do not try to over think it, listening to the opinions of others (their hearts sing in different tunes!) I discovered which one made my heart skip a beat, then I began to doubt my heart by listening to others. Go with your heart, and never look back!

I picked a Diamond Dial Black and Gold version up last week, my first Rolex and love it.
I think the Blue dial is stunning and blue is my favourite colour but i wanted a Diamond Dial as they're a bit different but the Blue Dial ones don't come up often and there aren't many Black Dial ones around either when i was looking. Stunning watches to look at imo. 4A02BAF1-E3F3-4AB0-B30E-BC6D648CF25E-L0-001.JPG |

I went with 116613LN over 116613LB, LN looks a little more toned down. The LB is gorgeous but too loud for me.

I’d always go black dial over blue but that’s my personal taste sort of like choosing the colour of a car. I’d never get blue and always black/white/greys.

I will always go blue, just a mesmerizing dial and combination ,BUT that Black TT Sub is also a beauty .Very striking watch in its own right . |

Why can’t you configure the TT subs to diamonds on the Rolex site. Is this something done aftermarket?

I had the GMT TT LN, sold it eventually. Have a 116613 Bluesy and love it. I don’t know why but the TT with black dial somehow didn’t work for me after a while.

I never was much of a TT fan until I saw the new Bluesy last week. The dial really sets this watch apart from anything else in Rolex' catalogue (except for the full YG Sub but that's on another league). The black TT Sub does nothing for me, yet again another black dial Sub. But you need to see for yourself and let both watches speak to you. Pictures are just pictures, it's a totally different thing in the flesh.

I could tell after a bit of searching and research that they are hard to come by as a diamond dial but wasn't aware of the scarceness being suggested, have i managed to bag a bit of a rarity by shear luck
Its a 2010 dated model tbf but its immaculate so either been cherished or polished but either way its stunning imo, i got it of chrono and didn't hesitate when it popped up for sale |
