Is that soap and water and then let the watch soak for a bit? I’m having trouble getting mine clean between the bracelet links.
Thanks!

Unfortunately? Looks like a well used Rolex. He actually used his watch, instead of posing on Instagram with it.....

Warm water, dawn dish soap, a toothbrush and soak after you scrub. Comes out shining good as new

Can't speak to the posters cleaning routine, which looks pretty thorough, but I personally use either dishsoap or hand soap and warm water. A soft toothbrush will help if you need for stubborn grime. At the end of the day the bracelet is metal so if you don't use heavy chemicals you should be fine.

I sure do wish I could unsee that. It looks like a snickers bar was smashed into the bracelet.

Okay, Bas,

Can we hear the real story? Was it buried for years, then found by a metal detector in the park? I have to believe all that schmutz was a forgotten piece that someone just re-discovered after years!

Actually can’t wait to see the finished product. Still can’t believe someone would let their watch get that grimey. And the smell

That is just disgusting! Too bad you just can't reject those and send it back to the owner.

Thats ridiculous

Ive worn my watch every day for ten years....cleaned it twice....and its still almost perfect. I take a shower daily though, lol

Says a lot about the person who would even bring it to a professional looking like that....

That's pretty interesting. I noticed my gf's watches pick up grime much faster than my watches. It would be hard for me to pack this much dirt on a watch even if I tried.

The only thing holding the links together is the funk. An ultrasonic cleaning would find a bunch of Jubilee parts in the basket. I think the watch had to be removed surgically from the owners wrist.

No way you are getting it “clean”. You may remove whatever that is built up, but that will never be clean. An autoclave won’t clean that.

Doesn't that "Patina" make the watch much more valuable?

.. I suppose a positive of that human cement might be lack of articulation thus preventing potential stretch.. Maybe that's a stretch though.

I predict that watch will have a horrendous amount of stretch when that gunk is cleaned (pressure washed ? ) outta there.

Even though the exposed parts have worn flat I doubt the pins are even touching anything in there. Keep us posted Bas. Hang in there buddy.
