BLRO in Toronto - price?

Any fellow Torontonians, if anyone is interested in a BLRO, just saw this post on facebook marketplace for $17,500. I spoke to the seller a bit and asked why he wouldn't just go to a grey and get maybe 20 and he said he doesn't play the chrono24 game. However, with local sales around 25k - 28k, this seems rather low. Any thoughts?

Update*

Originally was cautiously optimistic, but as seen below, buyer beware. He has not responded to my further messages about selling to our local watchfinder.

If you’re serious, I’d want to meet with him at RSC and have the watch authenticated. Maybe he’d agree maybe he wouldn’t....

It’ll cost you about $150cad but it’s peace of mind.

So he's willing to lose thousands of dollars selling to you because he's a principled man? Ok. Good luck.

Who's saying this? Rather aggressive response. I do agree it's probably too good to be true of course, but who knows.

For that price, I 100% agree. If he won't meet at RSC it's not worth the risk.

You did. You said he's selling below market value because he doesn't play the game. He could sell to any dealer and make more than selling to you at that price. Trying to help you see it straight. Buy the seller. You'll hear that 1,000 times here. This is not legit based on numbers alone.

So yes, I'm aggressively trying to help you not get screwed.

I think you're jumping to conclusions. I didn't say I believe him, I'm simply sharing all the information that was provided. I also didn't say I was interested in buying it, just posting for fellow locals in case they have the stomach to give it a shot.

Based on that response I'm jumping to another conclusion so I think I'll just bow out now. Good luck.

You should post this in the watch out section since it's an obvious scam.

Happy to have it moved or deleted. I agree it looks very suspicious. I’m walking distance to watchfinder, I’m curious to see what they’d pay for a BLRO. I also followed up with the seller to clarify the chrono game comment because it seems simple to just walk into watchfinder and sell it and his response wasn’t very compelling.

It looks like he also has a sub for sale $11,500 but with a slightly different listing location, Pepsi is Toronto core and sub is about 20 min north. Yup probably not worth the potential hassle.

Isn't $17k-18k the going rate for a BLRO? $25-28k?

https://www.watchrecon.com/?query=blro

We talking USD or CAD...?

Glad you did that. Last thing we want to see is a TRF brother or sister getting taken by a scam.

Agreed. Optimistically I thought maybe he wants to move it and no one is actually paying the prices here, but that still doesn’t exclude an international sale. Likely a scam, proceed with extreme caution anyone who might try.

The seller joined facebook in 2020 and has 2 watches for sale at way below market price. Maybe he mistook CAD and USD pricing, bit of a long shot though.

So I told him that I think he should be able to get at least 20k even if he walked into our local watchfinder here and it would be a much more secure transaction for him and he has seen the message but has not replied.

That's my thought too. Even with 25k-28k being cad, after 19k to 21k usd, which is still alot. Didn't realize that the price of blro have also moved since the newer release. Prior to it was like 16k
