Oysterflex bracelet questions

I have always wondered this but never saw anyone else discuss it. My question is when purchasing a new Rolex with oysterflex bracelet through an AD does the watch come with a standard size oysterflex bracelet already attached to the watch from Rolex in Switzerland? Or does the watch come with no bracelet attached and they put on the correct size based on the buyer?

I would think that it would be better for it to come with no bracelet attached so there is less taking off/on and less risk of damaging the case.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Rolex is not concerned about damaging the case. Most owners (not us here on the forum) would not care.

Well I also wondered what the AD would do with the buildup of extra "standard" sized straps they take off? I'm hoping to get a oysterflex watch some day and just thinking through the process, since I've been forever waiting.

Nope, the watches come in with fitted OF.
A good AD would invite you and measure your wrist. Then they will place an order for the exact measure.
If not specified, watches usually come in with the default sizes. For the Daytona these are E and F which is 17cm wrist circumference.

I don't know what the watches come with, but I have heard that some AD's have different sizes in stock. When you make your purchase, they will give you/install the appropriate straps. If they do not have the correct size(s), they will order them for you.

Waiting for an oysterflex myself and inquired because of my small wrist size.
Was told every boutique carries all sizes and the proper ones will be fitted when you pick up your watch.

Make sure you try it on and don't just go by the chart. Recently purchased a Daytona OF, and the chart recommendation was actually too big for my 8" wrist. I think I ended up going with F on both sides.

Comes with a E and F as standard. AD usually has other sizes on hand or available from RSC.

Oysterflex bracelet questions

My AD sized me. They had all the OF strap sizes in store.

I don’t recall them measuring my wrist, instead, I believe they chose strap sizes based on how I was wearing my modern Sub at the time (one link removed from each side).

They got the fit right. Even though, I will say, there was an adjustment period and for the first month of ownership (116519) I thought the OF sucked. I have since changed my mind. You just got to get used to the different fit. Mine still pulls up to the 12:00 side a bit but it doesn’t bother me.

I have a D and F on my 519. 6.75 inch flat wrist. If anyone cares.

Yep, can confirm it comes on the E/F. The AD will measure your wrist for the correct size and adjust accordingly using the micro and easy link adjustments, or by providing a different size OF bracelet if needed.
