My first Rolex was a 42mm (pictured left). I found it so comfortable on my oval 6.5" wrist that it got me interested in more Rolex models including other 42mm watches and 40mm watches. They are all equally comfortable.
It's more to do with design than numbers. I have a 44mm watch and a 43mm watch that both wear like they were 40mm. |

The Explorer II is my least favourite, moved it on after a couple of months.
The YM42 sits very comfortably and doesn't feel like a big watch at all. I have the SD43 as well though, because of its weight you know you are wearing a bigger watch, still love it! |
