Panerai 40mm with sandwich Dial

Hi,

As the title suggests; has Panerai ever done a 40mm Luminor with a sandwich dial?

I´ve been searching forums and references but can not find one.

Wanted to see if anyone on here knows any different?

Cheers!

They are releasing the Pam 1271 this November. 40mm luminor with a white sandwich dial.

Oliver smith jewelers has a YouTube video in august talking about the 40mm luminor, 42mm submersible and 44 chron being released in white this yr.

The luminor looks awesome. I'm pretty excited as I have small wrists.

My wrist is 6.75 and 44mm fits perfectly.

I have chopsticks size wrists and thought 42mm is good and bought the sub , the 44 Luminor and 45 Radiomir... Concept of lugs overhang for Panerai doesn't apply once you get into thick straps you will feel even maybe 47mm is not too big... Plus these are statement watches...

So coming back to your search yes Panerai did make 40mm luminors , sandwich dials not sure though but avoid 40mm if you can as now even Datejusts are 41

I have a 7 inch wrist and when I tried on the PAM 1271 it fit great. I was comparing it to my GMT Master II 126710. Panerai also make a similar Luminor with white sandwich dial in 44mm, but I prefer the smaller size because it is more versatile and still keeps the iconic design.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. My wrist is 6.25" and I also have a 126710 so appreciate that feedback . I've been told the new Pam 1271 wasn't expected to hit the stores until November... have they started arriving at the retailers already? Hoping to make the 1271 my first panerai.

Although not a popular opinion, 40mm PAMs are amazing.

Any first hand encounters yet of the new 40mm? Anyone know if the 22/20 straps out now fit this? They make reference in coming months "Flexible, lightweight rubber bracelets featuring the Quick Release system will be available in the next months for a full spectrum of color with a sporty spin."

Does anyone know when they will be hitting the AD's? I know they are available at some specific Panerai only boutiques but not widely available yet it seems.

Great information as always
My guess too is that those are indeed snap on casebacks.

Thank you. I rarely wear it on the titanium bracelet these days but the Zenith el Primero movement is amazing on this model.

Bumping this thread after trying on these two new 40mm Luminors with sandwich dials today at an NYC boutique. Finally a truly wearable, for me anyway, classic Panerai Luminor for wrists under 7 inches. The blue dial (PAM1270) is especially nice; not too electric but still with a beautiful sunburst pop.

About a decade ago I owned a 44mm titanium Luminor that I just couldn't wear because of the size. I think Panerai nailed it with these new releases. You still get that chunky Panerai feel, just scaled down a bit. They're also only 12.8mm thick, which is relatively slim for this type of watch.

They've got 100M water resistance, thank goodness, screw-down case-backs (not snap-on), and a new quick-release strap-changing system. All around they're very appealing if you like that Panerai look, which I do. They're discontinuing the 42mm versions, so it'll be the 40mm and 44mm as options going forward.

The company's gotten a lot of heat over the last couple of years, often deserved, and the brand in general has fallen out of favor to some degree. But I call it as I see it, and these are very nice timepieces.

The new size looks great on your wrist. How is the interchangeable strap system? Were you able to test it?
