449 or 232?

would you trade 449 for used 232?
why and why not?

449 is in-house one of kind 2533 model
232 is ETA based, no crystal case back, classic version with 12,3,6,9.....

so my dilemma is what would you pick?
thank you

232

Perfect shade of brown....really perfect.
Thin (wears smaller)
Solid caseback (face it that movement I the 449 is nothing to look at, the 6497 looks better IMHO)
Cheap to maintain (don't have to use richemont)
12/3/6/9 trumps all for me when it comes to Panerai.

Yes! For all the reasons Mik said. Plus, I prefer the 425 to the 449, anyway.

232 is

I wouldn't. Mik has pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Love the 12/3/6/9.

That's a tough call...

449 - SE(500), unique and very nice sandwich dial, engraved 2-liner, blue hands, sexy-plexi - very authentic! Ecru lume, not so great (for my personal taste).

232 - SE(1938), iconic 12-3-6-9, 2-liner dial, brass hands - very authentic! Green lume and sapphire work better for me.

Honestly, this one boils down to personal taste. The 232 gets my vote, but I could easily love a 449, no problem there

Let us know what you decide to do... !

Watch by watch I prefer the 232, by far.
But if you have bought the 449 new you should consider the 232 condition.

My vote is 232. For all the same features Travelller pointed out.

232 - SE(1938)
iconic 12-3-6-9
2-liner dial
brass hands
Sapphire crystal and green lume

relative to where you can buy a 232 now.. I would keep the 449 and maybe get the 232 later? Sometimes, you need to have some time with the watch before you can decide which ONE is really the one for you.

I am not too much into rads, but just by saying "in-house one of a kind" where 232 is ETA, no display case back classic version, I feel there shouldn't even be a second's doubt….

I have tried them both, I much prefer the 232 fit. Thinner/hugging wrist better for me. Do you like your watches thin or thick?

Thick

Thin
