Owned a Sub, and currently own the CHNR...no contest. The Rootbeer is one of the best looking watches at any price point - a future classic...just my opinion of course. But it sounds like it really resonated with you when you tried it on. I think you know what needs to be done

I’ve decided to pull the trigger.... Yes,it was love at first sight. It was unexpected. I went thinking I will not like it. I would have bought then and there, but my AD wanted me to be sure hence this delay...

Will post pics when I officially buy it.

Let me give you a hypothetical since you won't get a Sub if you get CHNR now. You walk into an AD tomorrow. And they got a SS Sub you wanted in stock. You can choose on the spot whether you will take one or the other, which one will you take. If you pick the Sub, don't get the CHNR. Wait for the Sub, since you'd only be getting the CHNR because you can't get a Sub at the moment. If you pick the CHNR, then get it, why not.

Good point.. if you had asked me this before I went to the store, it would have been a sub, Now it’s a CHNR 😂

Root Beer spanks a standard sub. No question. Nothing wrong with a standard sub, total classic, BUT the Root Beer spanks it. BUT in the end wear and buy what you love. glad you went in for it.

In November 2018, I put my name on waiting list for a 114060. In February 2019, I visited my AD and a CHNR was in the counter. I tried it on and ... instant love! But it was a bit pricey for me. I didn’t want to do an impulsive buy. So I went home, reading reviews, looking at pictures and watching videos on YouTube. After a few days, I made up my mind. I decided to buy it. I went back to the store and of course the watch was already sold... I told my AD my interest for the CHNR.

In April, I got a call! So I bought it! This CHNR is a great watch. It’s a real pleasure to wear it. And I’m still waiting for my Sub no date...

When the Rootbeer was announced I thought it was the best new release. Totally forgot about it since I am a SS guy. I saw the Rootbeer in person a couple weeks ago. Wow!! It is a stunner and the rose gold is beautiful. I also like the bluesy as well even though I hate gold. Congrats on an amazing pick up.

I just purchased my CHNR the other day and it is a stunning watch! The more you look at it, the better it gets. Highly recommend!

Get the CHNR now as it’s a great opportunity in itself then ask the AD who is clearly looking after you to get the SubC in a few years then you too can be a Sub owner like the rest of the world.

The Sub is a sub, but being a sub, but to me, I would wait until 2020 and get the new one with the new movement.
Now, the GMT you're showing here is one unique piece that unlike the sub, you won't see on every wrist out there. It's a distinguishable piece that I really love.
You made a good and amazing choice. Love GMT watches.
Congratulations.

You don’t miss an opportunity to peddle this junk.

Honestly, God bless if makes you happy but that looks so awful, cheap, lack of class for a $36,000 watch.

I did it with zero regrets. In fact the longer I have it, the more I love it. My dad is currently wearing it and it is his favorite reference as well at the moment.

Totally agree, and in my opinion, they're nasty looking. Kind of reminds me of back in the early 70's when my folks would by a new couch or vehicle (with cloth seats no less), and cover them with that plastic crap.

Kind of sad, when you think about it. It's just a watch, and if a potential buyer is that worried about it, they need to find another hobby.

Dad wanted a stainless GMT II, but fell in love with the Root Beer when he saw one in the store. He's let me handle it and I highly recommend it if you have the means.

If you have a BB then you're filling that diver spot for now. The CHNR is beautiful and unique - you'll probably never see another on someone else's wrist. I'd go CHNR and enjoy the BB until the time comes for a Sub.
