"I will take all six in stainless steel, no need to wrap them!!!”

I wish it was that easy to get SS Rolex watches at an AD. These days it takes patience, perseverance, and a phenomenal AD. Fortunately, I have been blessed with all three.

Ahead of another potential COVID lockdown, I decided to go to the bank to switch out a few watches for the next rotation and took a quick family photo. Definitely all used and slightly abused from the daily grinds of life.
  • GMT-Master II 116710 BLNR - Batman
  • Sea-Dweller 4000 116600 - SD4K
  • Daytona 116500 - white
  • GMT-Master II 126710 BLRO - Pepsi
  • Daytona 116500 - black
  • Submariner 126610 LV - “new” Kermit
What’s next? I have a couple things that I am working on that I hope to add to my existing non-Rolex collection, which is not pictured.

Here is the family photo of my six modern SS Rolex (Pic or it didn’t happen right? LOL!)

Don't get me wrong, those are some great sought after pieces and congratulations that you've been able to purchase those.

I think most of us would enjoy the possibility to buy these ourselves. But - I always feel like these collections are missing some personality.

I would love to see something more out of your collection that aren't just "the hot pieces everybody wants to own".

These type collections are a bit paint by numbers. But if it's collecting new Rolex sports watches then they are on their way!!

Congrats on an excellent collection! There’s a couple there we have in common and a couple of them I’d love to land :)

Wonderful collection, you are very fortunate that you were blessed with the right factors that helped enable you.

Best wishes for your future additions.

Very nice watches. Awesome collection. There are at least 2 watches in your collection that I have been on the 'waiting' list for a few years.

Nice collection of ‘most difficult to obtain from AD’ SS Rolexes. Looks like the only one missing is this, which is arguably the hardest to get:

In other words you've been sucked bigtime into the hype.

If your happy with it by all means enjoy it. To me when I see these collections its just a person who goes out and buys each hyped watch on Instagram.

Tend to agree. I would sell the Pepsi, black face Daytona and the SD and get a WG GMT Pepsi. Then I add either a Bluesy or CHNR for a little flash. The last watch to add and then drop the mic would be the Platona.

Nice collection. I think a little more variation in material/color and functionality might be a good idea in the future though. A Pilot watch? A dress piece? A PM piece? Having so many variations of the Rolex sport theme is nice because you won't lose money on any of those (since you got them at List from AD....no brainers each one is!) but from the standpoint of having real mood changing/look differentiating choices I'd score some diversity. Time is money!

If you can get any of these pieces from your AD at list price there is not much harm or risk in picking them up. They are all worth more than he paid for them right now for sure. He's not the one who got sucked into the hype....it's the rest of the world who would pay him more for these pieces than he did!

To be fair, I’m number one on the list at my AD for one of the most hyped watches in Rolexdom, however, if not for the hype I would not have been aware of the existence of the 116508 John Mayer. Thank you hype!!!

I’d add a DD40 as well for good measure:

Beautiful watches. Thanks for sharing. As a side note, I know it's common but this concept of storing watches at a bank vault is very strange to me. I'd not want to leave the house, drive (or walk) to a bank, say hello to anyone, get inside a vault and open a box to see my watches and rotate them. The nicest thing of collecting watches is having them around me the whole day. If I had to do that I'd probably buy cars instead. At least the garage is close to me.

Awesome collection Bruce! I tend to agree with others on the DD selection. A nice PM reference would round out your Rolex collection. It might also be time to look outside of Rolex before the rest of the quality watch brands catch hype. I’m really liking what IWC and JLC are doing right now. Best of luck with future acquisitions!
