326235 Band Change
I am new to the forum-(1st post). I currently own a 116509 (blue) and a 126610LN. I am intending to buy a 326235 in 2021. My questions are these:
Can I buy a chocolate leather band as found on last year's model new from an AD or will they not sell it to me because it isn't offered on this model? Further, will Rolex not touch my watch with this band because it is no longer offered? I suppose I can just change the band back if I ever need to send the watch into Rolex for any kind of service. (I live in TX and usually just take my watches straight to the Dallas RSC). I'm not in love with the Oysterflex band by any means. (I know, a bit of a rambling above. Any guidance is appreciated). |

If it was not offered on the watch that might be a show stopper.
Best is to ask your AD because this seems to vary.

I think you are correct. Luckily, my AD is treating me pretty well - as I bought three watches this year-(it was our 30th wedding anniversary, so I spent too much with him). At any rate, I've found the band for purchase if/when I need. It appears the two changes that were made when moving to the 2020 model (from 326135 to 326235) were from Arabic number indices to baton, and from an alligator band to OysterFlex. All else (case) looks the same, so I should be OK - (unless someone here points out something I don't know).

There is also a difference in endlinks between 326135 and 326235. With new Oysterflex 326235 the endlink matches the style of Oysterflex rubber. With older 326135 the endlinks are smooth ! And the leather strap probably does not fit the newer clasp, Oysterflex is connected different then leather. Same problem as with the Everose Daytona first on leather later on Oysterflex.

You can choose between one of about a dozen rolex leather bands for rolex strap watches. Ranging from about $250 for leather to 500-700 for alligator. I believe you can go from oysterflex to a leather option but not the other way easily (would need a different clasp and I don’t think rolex will sell via AD).
Best way to see the options is to talk to the SA, they can pull it up on a computer and show you. |
